Court Adjourns Case Of Man Who Married His Grand Daughter...

I am in shock reading this...........

A Sharia court sitting in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State has adjourned the case of one Musa Tsafe who married his granddaughter.
The case was adjourned to Monday July 25, 2022.

Musa, who is 57-year old refused to divorce his granddaughter, whom he married 23 years ago.

The grand daughter Wasila Isah Tsafe aged 37 had been married to her grandfather for the past 23 years with eight children from the marriage.

The case was brought to a Shari’a court in Tsafe by the Hisba Commission through their lawyer, Sani Muhammad while the accused man and his granddaughter-wife were represented at the court by their counsel, Ayuba Abdullahi

After heated arguments by the counsels of both parties, the plaintiff’s counsel quoted verses from the Holy Quran to support his arguments, notifying the court that the marriage was illegal according to Islamic religion..

The judge, Justice Mahe after hearing from both sites, adjourned the case ......

The Tsafe Emirate Council had summoned community leaders and Islamic scholars to investigate the matter and it was discovered that the marriage was illegal but Musa Tsafe insisted on continuing marrying his granddaughter, Wasila.

  11. The ages don’t add up. Maybe she’s an adopted grandchild or step grand child. He’s only 20 years older and they been married for 23 years. This is confusing

  16. This story has a large gaping hole in it, unless their ages are not correct. So the 57 year old man married the grand daughter 23 years ago at the age of 34 and she was 14. Please how old are the girls parents?

  17. I guess the ages or relationships have some gaps in the report but the community has no moral standing to dissolve this situation.

What were they looking at after the first, second, third, all the way to eighth child? With that number of children and so many years, any forced divorce will only be on paper as they are eternally married. If the government is not bringing bags of rice and wads of cash for the family to foot bills, they should stay away as they have been doing for decades.
