Retired CJN Mohammad To Get N2.5 Billion Benefits As Senate Begins Corruption Probe

The retired Chief Justice of Nigeria, Ibrahim Muhammad, is expected to get a N2.5bn severance package from the Federal Government.

Muhammad’s resignation on health grounds was announced on Monday June 27,2022 less than a week after the 14 Supreme Court Justices accused him of financial malfeasance and maladministration.

Following the development, President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Monday swore in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the next most senior Justice as the acting CJN.

    1. That is if we are actually praying for God to visit Nigeria. God answers when we call but where are those that should lead the "call"? They are all hiding behind buhari and collecting their own cuts to keep quiet.

  7. On what grounds? Did his service to the nation make Nigeria the number one country in terms of justice delivered and justice reforms? This is the corruption we are talking about. Nigeria is finished!

  9. This here is the corruption.
How much severance package do they pay; doctors, teachers, accountants and so on?
Many retired people have died of hunger.
And here we are, rewarding corruption instead of probing, prosecuting and jailing

  10. They do all these because they can. At the end of the day, we are only going to mumble and grumble for 2days to 1 week, then, forget this ever happened and the cycle continues….

  12. Imagine if that money was pumped into pension payments, or for fixing of federal roads or an aspect of healthcare or an aspect of education, lolll, your money is inside one person's pocket.

And this is just ONE person, imagine how much is entering your leaders pocket.
I've said it that the minority will kill the majority only because the majority are clueless, inept, and similarly corrupt.
If by mistake, another clueless, inept, incompetent leader is elected, I can assure you that the next 8 years will make the last 8 years look like paradise.
