      If you know world history, you will understand that it was safer for them to remain in UK than outside where nobody was to be trusted then.

      If you know work history yen yen. If you really read your history,you will know it was an uncommon decision for king George to have remained at Buckingham palace right in the heart of London when he could have gone to their other palaces in Scotland and other relatively less dangerous places. The prime minister was in charge of the government so it wasn't like his going away would have made àny difference in the war effort. It was more as a show of support for his countrymen than anything else. More like "we are all in this together"
