This is the genesis of our problem.. If you marry a yahoo boy or someone who is morally bankrupt, what do you expect ? When you date and see the wrong signs, why do you go ahead and marry ? What about peer pressure from family and friends that push people into bad marriages ?... Most couple that we see in our society are not compatible and not supposed to be married in the first place, hence why we shouldn't surprised with all the cheating... DUHHHHH
DeleteMarriage on the outside and on the inside are two veryyyyyyyyyyyyy different things. Ppl cheat for different reasons, but should we be judging them? I am not a cheater by design, that is simply just not in my character, but that does not make me better than another woman who cheats. That cheating woman has a story, perhaps even more than mere lust. What if her spouse has removed every affection from her, what if he doesn't touch her or has his own woman who he gives himself physically to. Yes, she should probably divorce, but can she do so easily? Is she evil to desire to be touched and appreciated physically by someone. Cheating is too complex sometimes, it is not solely about lust to just get up and judge someone. Without full details we just got to love ppl in their flaws and failings and be there even when we don't really understand what the heck is going on.

DeleteJudgment is not for humans, unless it is a criminal act. Cheating is not a criminal act in 99% of places on Earth. Judgment is for God and humans are called to love. That's it! Everybody has their shyt and if everybody's shyt was to be thrown into the streets none would be considered better than the other. Until you understand that, you are wasting your time on casting judgments. Folks just like to judge others because it is not their failing so they feel superior and fit to judge a situation. Most of the crap ppl judge they do not have a full picture of. They judge things they have absolutely no understanding of and if they were in the exact same situation would do the same or worst, but because they have not faced that door they feel superior in their purpose and lofty in their ideals. If having compassion for others mean I am woke, then woke I will remain. I do not want to live a life full of judgment or looking down on others. And if that takes me to hell then so be it.

DeleteMy 2Cents advice as an older woman to young men & women is to exercise self control. If you give in to every impulse you will be stealing, lying, late to work, abusive etc anyhow. Aside from those who scam and steal from their positions, many see stealing as extreme so if we can exercise restraint on some fronts why not on sex? It’s not a competition to see which gender can beat the other in such things. Anyone can do wrong. “Flee sexual immorality”, says the Bible. You sometimes may not realize what self control saves you from…std, heartache, ritual killers, etc If God were to show us how many battles he won for us without our knowledge we will be in greater awe of him. I’m mid fifties, married, have never been with anyone other than the man I’m married to. I’m not glorying in it, I’m actually thankful I don’t have a reference point to compare him to and I’m a naturally contented person. Has he cheated before? I’m not sure though he denies ever cheating in 3 decades AFTER we have been together. Will it make me cheat if I found out he had a one night stand? No. It’s not in my nature. It’s too intimate and I often wonder how human beings casualize such an intimate interaction. I am incapable of feeling anything for any man I do not love & I have never loved more than one man. Maybe I’m old fashioned but It is NOT AIR or FOOD though satan would like you to believe it is. SM,TV etc will like you to believe it’s air. You can exercise self restraint. Maybe because I have always been very busy with my career & parenting & gave my life to Christ as a teenager but it isn’t air or food & on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, it’s not like food, clothing or shelter. I get it that the economy is bad & some men are harassers in Nigeria with some requesting it before giving you opportunities (say no, true blessing comes from God who gives wealth without sorrow).I did before & quit a lucrative high flying multinational job before as I didn’t want to commit immorality with my boss who knew I entered the place on merit by passing tests & interviews but wanted it as a co diction for promotion. I got a better opportunity that took me out of the country once I took my stand for the right thing as I know my help comes from above. It’s a spiritual act & physical act. If you understand that it is spiritual you will avoid joining yourself with several folks whose real nature you do not know. It’s not cool to sleep around, married or single. Do not follow a multitude to do wrong (Exodus 23:2)
ReplyDeleteRemember there are priests in the Catholic Church who took vows of celibacy (I am not a catholic though I’m aware some may not be keeping their vows). Many keep them. We need to stop feeding bad things to our eyes & acting like it’s air. Stop watching or reading pollution into your minds. You will be amazed at how disciplined you truly are if you limit the pollution you consume.
