I think we have a long way to go in naija. For this country to be great, a lot of people need to be educated especially concerning this religious issues. It's not just the northern Muslims that are extremists or too religious, some of these Yoruba Muslims too can be too religious (I said Yoruba because this is where I live even though I have also lived in the north). It's so sad that things like these are happening in year 2022

Remember the cartoonist that was beheaded in France cos they found his animation offensive?

There's a particular BV I've noticed here who is always downplaying other people's spiritual experiences etc, advising them to read one book and abracadabra their problems away.

While growing up. I never knew my father and mother use to make out.
Mum gets pregnant every two years and we move. I wanted to go go toilet one night and went to my mums room to tell her. She was not on her bed. I started crying so hard, boom the connecting door to my father's room opened and mum came out. I now understand where she went that day and the reason for the connecting door which is permanently locked in the day and opens most nights. This cold weather be making one think bad things. Satan get behind me.

DeleteI've always also wondered how my teachers who lived in one bedroom apartments in the school staff quarters were able to procreate every two to three years even with adult relatives staying with them. I wonder if the kids have an inkling of what's going on or if the neighbors or relatives staying with them in that small space are in on the show.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Stella. Happy weekend to you too. Something happened recently that got me thinking. I have an aunt who lives in the US with her family. She is a nurse and has 4 children. Some years ago, her husband was crowned the traditional ruler of their community in Imo State. He wanted his family to move back to Nigeria with him. His wife refused because their first son who was in high school at the time played basketball. He threatened to marry another wife but she still didn't bulge. The first son graduated from high school and got a scholarship to a college in the US. He continued to play basketball and was very good at it. He graduated two years ago and has a master's degree now. He's about 25 years old now. Stella, this boy was drafted to the NFL this year. We all were at his draft party. His parents were so happy and proud of him. I know that a lot of people criticized his mother for refusing to move home with them. We all thought she was jeopardizing her marriage. They are still married. I want to know what y'all think.
