The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Monday May 9,2022 extended its ongoing strike for another 12 weeks.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by ASUU president, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke.
Osodeke said this was to give the government enough time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues.
The roll-over strike takes effect from 12:01 a.m. on May 8, 2021.
The decision was taken after the ASUU National Executive Council meeting which started on Sunday night at the Comrade Festus Iyayi National Secretariat, University of Abuja.
At the meeting, ASUU accused the Federal Government of being unserious.
ASUU is demanding the release of revitalization funds for universities, renegotiation and implementation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement.

from daily post...
It is definitely finished! My Dr. friend who is a lecturer in uniport already told me he is looking for another job
ReplyDeleteno matter how small it is and it's looking like God will soon favour him. He is tired of the charade both from Asuu and the federal government itself. The education system in this country has gone to the dogs.
My advice; leave if you can! Nothing come outπ₯΄ππππππ
And jamb is going on....
ReplyDeleteJesus is Lord....
Exactly...
DeleteI have stopped complaining about Nigeria and decided to change my prayer points. God bless me indeed so that Nigeria economy does not determine my income and expenses. There children are schooling abroad or in private University so nothing concern them with Nigerian Universities
ReplyDeleteThese people no send this strike oo
ReplyDeleteAll their children are schooling abroad so its none of their business...
Na so oo. It will never be well with federal government. Yori princess
DeleteIt is sad but not insurmountable.
ReplyDeleteHowever, for me, when I was in school, ASUU strikes were my most fruitful periods. I used the period to fast and pray and seek God for understanding and learn skills. Jesus revealed a lot about my life to me. That I am a minister where I am today is because of ASUU strikes. In all things he works for our good.
Do not just sit idle, find something to build yourself up.
This is wrong nowππwhen are we going to grow pass all this unnecessary delay and wasting of time????
ReplyDeleteBoys don already enrol for Yahoo academy
ReplyDeleteA country that does not place premium in EDUCATION is DEAD.
ReplyDeleteCOMPLETELY DEAD.
And I can assure you that it is DELIBERATE.
Very deliberate.
DeleteWhat a country!
ReplyDeleteThis is so bad, all the government cares for is their selfish interest, they are so focused on this campaign that is next year, their children are either schooling outside the country or in a private university so there's no how it will affect them
ReplyDeleteAnd they're busy buying 100m form.
ReplyDeleteThis is bad o. Yet some of them are buying forms worth 100m.to pay asuu is wahala. God help us jn this country o
ReplyDeleteI no just wan talk wetin go make me vex this afternoon....
ReplyDeletePls anybody that can help with sales job around Ogba, Ikeja and environ should pls help my girl... Thanks n God blessπππ
If your Education minister is buying form for 100m and lectures are using 2008 salary to survive ask yourself if that makes sense. No young person should take it lightly, you have a right to education and your lecturers have a right to a decent pay. The ministers should be held accountable.
ReplyDeleteNo care at all.
ReplyDeleteTruly unfortunate what's going on in this country. Those we elected to fix things, are busy with buying forms and campaigning for elections, ignoring the education sector that is the live wire of any focused country. Tufiakwa!!
ReplyDeleteOn judgement day, I nor go gree enter heaven, until Angel Michael explain vividly, why dem send me come Naija. If d explanation go well, I go enter. Else, Amma sue!
Hahahahaha. Lol!!π€£
DeleteASUU please pity these students... This is not fair at allπ
ReplyDeleteYou are not been fair. Tell the Education ministers to pity the student. lecturers also have families to feed and can’t teach on empty stomach. I grew up on a university campus, lecturers hate strikes just as everyone, it makes them idle and they hate the rush when strikes are over.
DeleteI think this is the time for Nigerian students to stage a protest across d nation. What's NANS doing? education minister Adamu Adamu, Chris Ngige, Emeka Nwajiba are colossal failure. And these set of people have the effrontery to buy APC 100million form.. I think Nigerians should look beyond APC and PDP ahead of the 2023 polls if we truly want to change the narrative.
ReplyDeleteI think its time for us to protest for these young students. Remember all the time you fiercely supported a BBN housemate who you dont know- financially or through social media? Remember when we all rallied behind the End SARS protest, even when some of us had never been affected by them? Well, lets come together same way and protest for our youth. I really really feel sad about this. Our politicians are very wicked. How dare they? Imagine students studying under such unpredictable conditions. Jeeez.
ReplyDeleteJesus come and help us
