EFCC Reportedly Arrests Nigeria’s Accountant General Ahmed Idris For N80bn Fraud

WHAT!!!

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Nigeria’s Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris.

EFCC Head of Media, Wilson Uwujaren announced this in a statement on Monday, May 16, 2022.

He said EFCC operatives took Idris into custody for alleged massive fraud.

Idris is accused of diversion of funds and money laundering to the tune of N80billion.

Uwujaren noted that the commission acted on verified intelligence against Idris.

He is said to have “raked off the funds through bogus consultancies and other illegal activities using proxies, family members and close associates”.

The funds were laundered through real estate investments in Kano and Abuja, the EFCC added.

Idris was nabbed after failing to honour invitations to respond to issues connected to the alleged fraudulent acts.

  1. We can see the corruption this government is fighting, ASUU is on strike for 2months now and the government is saying they don't have money. Meanwhile this man stole a huge amount that could have been given to ASUU.. This is a big shame to this government

  9. The money in personally custody of this regime and it's appointees is worrisome. The sad news is that they are not investing on anything or allowing the money to circulate. I wonder the kind of warehouse hosing their money.

Cars that you drive where ? in NIGERIA. SMH.. I won't judge him though because I might do the same if I was in the same position but I pray I DON'T ... do the same no matter the circumstance.
