But there is no right time to call out a person owing or who has no good factual or legal ground against an asserted debt.
Every seller of goods or provider of services knows that trade debt is the death of a business.
Hence in the old days, provision stores used to have that framed picture of the robust man who sold on cash and the wretched looking man who sold on credit.
Even government, banks and companies do call out on debts.
As some have said, we should wait for the reply, rather than ask why now or call the person demanding foolish or put up a denial and defence on behalf of the man.
However, the demand should have been made using the man's name. He is well known by his name. So it may appear vindictive. Even if so, the main question is - Is the man owing? Because marriage has its bags and contents.
