DeleteSometimes I feel like if I was raised in the western society, I wouldn’t have any urge to marry or have children. But from childhood, I’ve been ingrained with the ideology that a woman is only complete when she has her own husband and family. I have witnessed in my childhood as spinsters approaching their 30s and beyond were ridiculed and made to feel like lesser humans just because they were unmarried.
DeleteUnfortunately, I feel like i have no choice than to align with these ideals but what I’d strongly insist on is that I’d take my sweet time in choosing a very suitable partner before I’d end up with dustbin, regardless of how long it takes. Whether it happens now at 25 or at 35, I honestly don’t care. There’s more to life than marriage and raising crotch goblins lol.

ReplyDeleteI just stopped communication with one guy last week that didn't know I had kids. While we were gisting,I brought up the topic of single parenting and all. And he was like he can never marry a girl from a broken home(my parents are a very much together but for him to think that, he'll probably also think low of my kids)
Abeg after the date,I ghosted him mbok. I don't have the strength for anybody's apology. Better for him to stick to his truth
