Jesus spoke to people who had given up on religion. People who were burned out trying - and failing - to observe a long list of rules and regulations. Here is what he told them: 'If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light' (Matthew 11:28-30 CEV).
The 'yoke' Jesus spoke of was a harness that went around the necks of two oxen so they could pull the plough in the same direction. In each team of oxen, one was the leader and the other would follow. There is an important lesson here - don't miss it. Jesus will take the lead, but you must stay in sync with him to enjoy his blessing on your life. He promises his yoke won't choke you; it won't be wearisome or confining, and you won't chafe under it. In fact, if you want to be truly free, you must let yourself be yoked to Jesus by submitting your will to his. But it doesn't work to accept Christ's yoke for a while and then start pulling the other way when things don't go the way you want. When you do, the load gets heavier and you start to feel worn out.
Peace and rest come when you relax in the yoke and let Christ lead. Jesus said, 'You will find rest.' That means your options are to resist him or to rest in him! Which will it be?

The Prof was angry, he sent for her and scolded her for taking such risk "You silly young girl" go back for proper treatment, your health is more important, we'll arrange for your exams later! The girl was very appreciative, she later got married to the Head of State, Yakubu Gowon!
One day she was on official visit to the same UCH, and all the management staffs including Professor Akinkungbe lined up to welcome the first lady. As she was greeting them one by one on the line, she got to where Prof was standing."Sir, do you remember me"? Yes I do your Excellency! Prof responded " That your silly young girl" the first lady said with excitement, she went down, just as she used to do when she was a student. " Thanks you so much sir" Prof also bowed in respect, " Welcome your Excellency"

I pursued ABU with all my might. I went there for days. I wanted that city badly. I love that it had military presence. I be wan marry a colonel. I wanted so much to be a military wife π
Nija sweet then. Everywhere was home and me and my friends then looked forward to exploring the North.
I know I was a daring teenager but when you know the house you were living in is a kind of torture you would want to go far.
Most kids do that then. University is your escape route. You want to be far from home.
I even change my name to Halimah π€
Now if you like make you dey adventurous or you just want out from under your parents, you d*are not use your hand fill far school for Nija, except this life don tire you.
A child will now do primary, secondary and University in same vicinity because of fe*ar and insecurities. Everybody first protect their kids or themselves than exploring. Toh see what they have turned my adopted state Kaduna to. Smh

My sister told her daughter to be a good girl and undress for bath this morning, that one said she would rather be a juju and disappear forever. That's how my sister beat out the word juju out of her daughter's body early this morning. That one cried until she consoled herself by saying to her mother, "You're a bad mommy". She then came to me and asked to drink water. I poured some water into her cup, she said 'thank you onti' and went to where her mother was charging her phone and yanked it out of the charger and soaked it into her cup and then covered the cup and gave me to keep in the fridge for her. I did that not knowing what small madam has done. My sister has been looking for her phone for almost 40 mins when her eldest son told her he saw his lil sister with the phone last. OK small madam, where is the phone you took, that one didn't answer us o. God help me. We found her phone sha but it's already bad. Na wa o

DeleteAnyway, I think your sis was too quick to spank her daughter for using the word “juju”, after all she must have probably learnt it from someone at home. She should have just corrected her and explained to her why she shouldn’t have used that word. African parents are always quick to use the whip smh. Children are much smarter than we give them credit for, she probably felt very offended for getting spanked for innocently repeating a word she heard someone say, she obviously didn’t know it was a word she should not be using. You think that “bad mommy” comment she made was just kids saying dumb stuff, as genuinely thinks so because she was frankly, unjustly spanked.
There are many ways to correct a child, it’s not every time unnecessary violence. Lol.
