Question that toolz talked about a few years ago. Madam go and read her post abeg.
ReplyDeleteLook atew 😒
Deleteits not safe ..the baby immune system is not strong yet..I even wash my hands or sanitise before I carry any baby and I ask the mother first before doing so
DeleteSome pple r walking Ard with Hepatitis unknown to them, imagine kissing an innocent infant
DeleteThat thing is done out of sheer love and innocence though not appropriate
ReplyDeleteNot appropriate at all, especially since a lot of people seem to carry the herpes virus in their mouths. I wouldn't want anyone kissing my baby; especially not on the lips.
DeleteMiss Ess, I love your response.
DeleteWhich love? Don’t misconstrue force of unhealthy habits with love pls. A guy I later found out was hiv positive was kissing my child he’d only met once!! Is that love, wickedness or sheer stupidity? Always tell people before handing over your child no kissing pls.
DeleteIt's so wrong. I won't do it to someone else's baby, no one should bring that close to me abeg.
ReplyDeleteBabies are so cute to hold, resist the temptation ehhh!
To me, it is not. If you are not family (parents and siblings) you have no reason to kiss my baby before you scatter their face with saliva.
ReplyDeleteEven parents and siblings sef only forehead peck is allowed
DeleteEven mama wey born piking should not kiss a baby
DeleteOne visitor don come kiss your pikin shey? The very thing you've done 1000 times to your siblings babies....abeg shuft
ReplyDeletenot bad, the only thing bad is a kiss on their mouth.
ReplyDeleteHerpes is real
DeleteI doubt if it's on the mouth, I know it could just be perk on the chick which people like doing to babies
DeleteStephanie and Kidjo, kissing other people's babies on any part of the body is wrong and gross.
DeleteNo it's not appropriate, babies haven't developed strong immune system yet and viruses that cause Herpes and it's likes are easily transmitted through just one kiss. You shouldn't be kissing your own baby on the lips or sharing spoons etc either. Most cavities babies suffer are transmitted by their parents.
ReplyDeleteNo, it isn't appropriate
ReplyDeleteNobody should kiss your baby. Even touching them make sure they sanitize their hand.
ReplyDeleteIt is not appropriate
ReplyDeleteDon't try it with my baby
Kiss or perk?If na kiss please is a no no
ReplyDeleteIt's inappropriate mama..You can blow them a kiss in the air if you can't resist but please avoid physical contact in doing so.
ReplyDeleteEven as a parent, resist the temptation of mouth kisses to your babies till their immune system is fully developed.
Babies are cuties though.
So cute and cuddly
DeleteVery wrong. Children's immune system is not that strong. To avoid infection.
ReplyDeleteI never ever kiss a baby that is not my family member’s. Even my nieces and nephew, I can only peck, I don’t kiss them on their lips ever
ReplyDeleteDo people kiss babies on their lips? I mean babies that are not theirs. I seriously doubt that though. I don't even think I will kiss my babies on their lips when I have them. Pecking is good enough abeg .
DeleteVery inappropriate! I find it difficult to even kiss my own baby on the lip sef.
ReplyDeleteKissing on the lips is wrong. But na wa for some of the comments. All the babies you have kissed on the cheeks since you started carrying babies, how many of them have had infections becauseof you?
ReplyDeleteSomeone cannot innocently kiss and cuddle a baby that is not theirs again. These days, ever since I offered to carry someone's child and the person said "no" rudely with no further information, I avoid offering to carry other people's babies to avoid unnecessary insults. May God give all who desire their own kids.
Amen
ReplyDeleteI don't even offer to carry other people's babies , because all my nieces and nephews are grown. Except you offer me to carry a baby , i don't , talk more of kissing. Most times I even decline to carry anyone's baby, as they are too fragile and moreover is not by force , you can smile at the baby from a distance. Shalom
ReplyDeleteNo, babies are getting herpes from infected adults. Just leave them alone. We all know they are cute. No need to kiss them
ReplyDeleteThe real topic to be discussed is how to politely dissuade someone from kissing or pecking a baby without ruining your relationship or embarrassing the person who just innocently wants to greet the child. In a world where kindness can seem scarce, people with the best of intentions should not be put down. Rather, they can be educated and encouraged to do what is best for the child's health.
ReplyDeleteMost of us have kissed babies. Thank God the parents didn't take a shaming approach to that act, no matter how subtle and thank God the babies were not harmed.
The dodge of "it's a close family member" doesn't count. It has no place in microbiology. Even Mabel is equally guilty.
Yes, it is okay, but only on the cheeks, neck or forehead.
ReplyDeleteAs it is now I am very careful about even carrying someone's child much less kiss. Even if the child brings his/her mouth (some do try to bite my lips when teething), I move mine away.
ReplyDeleteI don't want a story of you carried by baby and now it has diarrhea or the likes. Let everybody dey their dey.
