So far I'm at peace with it, I just ignore them and go on. The most important thing is that I informed them and I took the decision for myself.
ReplyDeleteGhana 2 Nigeria 1
DeleteYour family is not God! Always calm down for God to speak.
DeleteI say this because some family members hide under this shit to do evil.
In my family, our 1st child is a pro in telling our parents trash when anyone of us come home with somebody.
We later figured out that she only likes to give approval to men that kiss her foot. If you like be a ritualist, she doesn't care.
But if you dare love her sibling but don't kiss her foot, it's game over for you.
And she goes great lengths to destroy beautiful things for others.
Move on regardless. Everybody will be alright lass lass.
ReplyDeleteTry to make them see reasons with me, but if I am convinced the decision I took is the best, I'll go ahead hoping that the outcome of my decision will do the convincing.
ReplyDeleteAs long as it’s not life threatening and it brings me peace, I go ahead with it.
ReplyDeleteWe’ll settle later.
If its a career move, its solely my decision. If its marriage, i would love to hear their opinion but i would still be the one to decide. If they dont approve, its their problem not mine. Dem go dey alright las las.
ReplyDeleteShey you don see the kine fetish your love interest dey into?
DeleteI nor wan hear say you carry bow leg go office after marriage. LMAO
Pray
ReplyDeleteFast
consult with them
In that order.
Most times, we do not get to the third one for we are all believers in Christ.
Same Spirit of Christ works through all.
I haven't really had any of such incident. My family always supports me.
ReplyDeleteI move ahead and do what please my soul and sanity as long as I am not hurting anyone I really don't care about people opinions. Sometimes it backfires but we move
ReplyDeleteWhen they don't agree, I prepare myself for both the consequences and the rewards. Las Las, no one can live this life for you. Once that cord is cut, you're actually on your own. Some parents seem to believe that they know EVERYTHING..and I mean everything including the unforseen future. But no one knows tomorrow, no matter the ladder we climb, we could never see into tomorrow..not even our parents. We are all in this world together. My parents paths in life was fashioned solely for them. The lessons they have learned and all knowledge gained from their journey which they've passed on to me can only serve as a stepping stone into carving my own path with my hands. So whether they agree to anything I want or do, it doesn't matter. It doesn't show disobedience on my part. We all have our journeys to make. They have theirs and I have mine.
ReplyDeleteI am good with words and mannerism. I can get most people to trust/agree/believe me especially when I talk to you face to face.
ReplyDeleteBut then I acknowledge I don't know it all. So I am good with listening to new/different views and ideas. I have never had issues with mentorship.
Right now, I want to go on low cut badly, but my mum is against it, and I really would love it, so I just obeyed and carry my curly long hair.
ReplyDeleteWow! How old are you?
DeleteIf it’s my mom, I’d seriously reconsider because she’s definitely seeing something I’m not and over the years, I’ve come to realize that she’s always right. I’ve often said that if my mom for whatever reason doesn’t approve my partner for marriage, I’m ending it. Y’all won’t understand and I don’t know how to begin to explain it.
ReplyDeleteAll I know is that she sees abs wants the best for me and isn’t driven by petty or irrelevant reasons to drive certain decisions.
What's up with you and Mark? Dante dey enter ya eyes abi
DeleteThat's my girl
DeleteI go ahead and do whatever I want. Yes, I'm that stubborn. In our home, the reverse is usually the case. I'm the one who tells my mum things to do in any situation. Most times she listens to me, other times she doesn't. And if she doesn't listen to me, at the end of the day I'll always be right and she regrets not listening to me. My instincts are always right, it's a gift from God.
ReplyDeleteBut me, I no dey hear word at all at all. I may probably listen to her when it comes to marriage.
You geh coconut head 😅
DeleteI actually understand you poster. I saw a post by someone Annonymous that said she will listen to her mum even for marriage choice I almost thought how foolish when she’s not God but I’m some families they’re so God conscious and built different definitely.
DeleteMe, my own that I’m the curse breaker margin setter etc to listen to anyone but the Holy Spirit May really cost me. It’s not like I don’t consult oooo I do sometimes enh even now that I’m wedding simple progrsm my mother cannot write it and I’m an only daughter oooo, she’s acting like a guest at my event I’m the one working! You shall know them by their fruits is that the one whose advice I’ll carry like gala on top head of I know what’s good for me. I have to just understand her own she try even spiritually she try! I can never criticize her effort but I gats to be real Biko!
I wish l can move ahead but the fear of the consequences l faced for forcing my will on previous issues will make me reconsider there options.
ReplyDeletesometimes their decision seems the best. still grateful.#mykidsmypride#
ReplyDeleteSometimes I just ghost them, iam very good at that,I have a very good instinct,I just follow it,it very hard to change my mind especially when iam right
