Soludo gave the directive in Awka on Friday, March 25,2020 during a meeting with leaders of 91 markets and transport unions in the state.
He said that the preliminary survey conducted showed that more than N19.6 billion was being lost. This was due to the closure of businesses every Monday in the state.
He said that the directive had become necessary due to the obvious negative impacts of the sit-at-home being observed in Anambra and other states in the South-Eastern zone.
He said that he was not against people being sympathetic to the cause of the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu; currently being held in detention.
“People should devout time to pray for him; while we leaders continue to follow up the matter because I believe that through dialogue, the matter will be resolved”, he said.
He assured that adequate security would be provided across the state to enforce the directive.
Soludo also told the union leaders
According to 1st NEWS .......“In the next three months, we will put in caretaker committees in markets with leadership problems; but in about one year, we will conduct fresh elections in all the markets.
When the election will be held; we will adopt ‘option A4’ so that proper people will take up leadership positions”
Odikwa risky. I'd rather stay at home for the first two mondays. Nor be me those wicked souls go butcher

DeleteHa! Hope he'll come out when bullets starts flying?
ReplyDeleteDoes Soludo have his Police and Army?
ReplyDeleteThe Federal government suppose to have solved this from day one but they did not because it is the S/E shooting themselves in the feet. Commerce is the lifeline of the south east and they decided to decapitate it by themselves.
He should also deploy security to these markets for sometime because t is fear of the unknown that makes people sit at home.If people are sure that nothing will happen to them in their shops on Mondays, they will gladly go about their businesses
ReplyDeleteI dey tell u
