ReplyDeleteAn anonymous did a beautiful long comment on this post yesterday comparing some people on this blog to the brother of the prodigal son. They feel because they are religious any good thing or blessings God fished out to His prodigal son is misappropriated, so they are bitter 😂😂😂.

Are you ready to handle the blessings you are praying for? Are you mentally prepared for the higher level you desire? It's not enough to blame God or a human giver for your own personal mistakes.
Many are in church or mosque not because of God but what he can give. They see God like that servant in the Bible: a wicked master looking to reap where he did not sow. The moment they get their "inheritance", they wander off like the prodigal son only to end up eating with pigs or they stand aside judging those who have wandered off, being disappointed that such sins are welcomed back with a banquets and feasts. All the while, the "good sons" stuck with the father not out of love for him but their desire for what he can give. The moment he tells them that all he has is theirs and their brothers, they are filled with resentment that they'll still have to share instead of sitting in judgement over someone who made a mistake in ignorance.
Whatever your present place in life, low or high, let God be enough for you. Master your emotions and don't be carried away with whatever God has given you. Don't mistake the gift for the giver. Don't let a creation of man or God lord over you, a child of God.
Davido was born into a rich man's family. He is unlikely to drink, speed, get high or act so stupid to the to the point that it leads to death because his present bank account is not rare to the reality he grew up in. People like Olamide and Wizkid had to create a distance between that "money dey shack me" mindset they sing about and grew up in so they are not consumed by their new status- old wine in new skins...
Study old money and you'll see that character is what determines whether or not the next generation will meet anything. What Davido's entourage is just getting exposed to, he has already experimented safely with in his teens. His elders have passed down the formulas of playing with small fires without burning down the house. If you are going to hang with him, have self control. His greatest weakness, women, is better managed now than say, 7 years ago. At least, he seems to better understand birth control and he takes financial responsibility.
This is not Davido's fault but that of those who mistake him for God and the little he has as something worth wasting life, the greatest gift they've received, on.

DeleteI don't understand why Nigerians will blame Davido for Israel's recklessness. Some people where even calling him out for the donation he gave to the orphanage. When he hadn't announced it, they were calling him out and calling him out. Wonder why Nigeria is the way it is.
