Na wah!!!
He said a strategic stakeholders meeting must be held by the leaders, including past and present day governors for the interest of the region and the betterment of the nation at large towards the 2023 presidential election.
Ajulo, in a statement on Tuesday, was reacting to the recent political developments in the region involving Osinbajo, Tinubu and their teaming supporters.
The senior lawyer is of the opinion that the developing political battle between the two camps may lead to a crisis that may serve as a clog in the wheel of the region from producing the next president.
“It will be unfortunate for the southwest to blow this chance of a lifetime to further reposition Nigeria towards the path of progress,” he said.
He, however, noted that Osinbajo is best positioned to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, calling on Tinubu to instead of battling the position with his loyalist, support the Vice President to ascend power.
“Yoruba leaders must put their personal differences aside and hold a Conference of Yoruba Stakeholders involving President Olusegun Obasanjo, Alaafin of Oyo, α»α»ni of Ife, Awujale of Ijebu, Alake of Egba, Iba Gani Adams, Bishop Gbonigi, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Chief Olusegun Osoba, Deji of Akure, Olugbon of Oke Igbon, Baba Bisi Akande, Professor Tunde Adeniran, Prof Bolaji Akinyemi, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, present and past Governors in Yorubaland and other stakeholders who have the southwest interest at heart to discuss the way forward.
“…It is no news that these two men do not have unfriendly feelings towards each other but a lot of their followers and lackeys have started throwing bricks of words across walls, and that is certainly an invitation to crisis,” Ajulo said.
“Undoubtedly, Osinbajo has represented this Government at different fora and definitely, would have seen more than his leader. It is a big plus that he is part of the government at the apex level.
“Asiwaju has done well for his followers and people, and I personally acknowledge that. But I strongly believe that it will further glorify Asiwaju’s leadership to support the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as the next President.”
After a closed door meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa two weeks ago, Tinubu declared his intention to run in the 2023 presidential election.
The former Lagos State Governor disclosed to State House correspondents that he had already informed the President of his desire to battle it out with whoever for the country’s number one position.
Though the Vice President is yet to declare his interest to run in the 2023 presidential election, his body language and that of his camp suggest that it is just a matter of time before he goes public with his intentions.

ReplyDeleteDivide and conquer.
Where is Oshiomole by the way?
He's somewhere in Abuja, Edo people have humbled him. I hope Nigerians repeat the same thing to Tinubu.
DeleteThere is no political battle going on between them. It's just members of the opposition concocting rubbish and promoting them in the hopes that it'll jam their heads and make them clash. It's just a strategy they are using to try to create a crack in the APC but that strategy is dead on arrival. They believe that the only way they can get a shot at presidency is to try to jam their heads π. PYO is loyal to Tinubu so they should try another style π
ReplyDeleteTaaaah shut up. You will stay in your tiny hole and be talking as tho you live with them.
DeleteYou will never understand or give a reasonable analysis to things, everything to you is caused by the opposition or those you hate.
DeleteOsibanjo is not loyal to anybody. We all saw how he made decisions when Buhari was away getting treatment. He made decisions he knew Buhari wouldn’t make, that alone is to show that he does what he feels is right. If he becomes President he will not be a Tinubu puppet and they know, hence the reason tinubu’s people are saying he should shelf his presidential ambition since his political father also has eyes on the ticket. They know he’s a big threat to their BAT.
DeleteCome rain come sun he is the New President. Tinubu this may end u, this here is a man loved by the pple and God. So
DeleteAre these the only people? Why can't we campaign for a younger person who will do well. These people have been there and Nigeria is still what it is.
DeleteThere's no political crisis brewing and you all should zukwanuike abeg
ReplyDeleteBoth should get Out
ReplyDeleteThis is happening only in the imagination of the writer .

ReplyDeleteI said the same thing!!!!!! I said it, all this drama is Tinubu plan the chess Master. @ d end Osibanjo wins all but Tru Tinubu making but disgusting...
DeleteTinubu wey worwor pass ghana prez
ReplyDeleteOsibanjo is a more and better qualified candidate to rewrite Nigeria's history. He is highly cerebral/intellectually endowed, a legal luminary who understands what is at stake, what to do and how to get us back on track. He possesses the decorum, is exposed and can tackle challenges well too. And as VP, isn't he supposed to step in if all things were equal? We don't need some old hags /recycled beings taking decision for a country at the verge of collapse anymore.
ReplyDeleteWell done
DeleteWith all his pedigree, and at the position of VP he still hasn't even spoken up once or done a thing other than to be the poster boy for #5000 TraderMoni.
Please as the 2nd in command to the worst administration Nigeria has ever been governed by, he should hide his head in shame and not come out to vye for even class representative.
He too is a failure and has nothing to offer.
We need fresh hands and ideas, please
Oh really? Like the Nigerian presidency belongs to these two? There is no need for such a conference. This writer is just trying to be relevant. Nigeria does not belong to a particular region, let who ever want to contest come forward. Nigerians will decide when the time comes. All we need this current government to do is not to be bias
ReplyDeleteFor equity and fairness igbos is the region to produce the next president. Please let us respect ourselves and do the right thing.
