I remember when he took over then.
ReplyDeleteAbacha... military era was a terrible time.
Is it worse than the so called democracy? Na military era infrastructure and development this era is still managing for citizens with bad economy. Military era with law and order.
DeleteFar worse.
DeleteWhich law and order? Please say what you know. Military era was bad, very bad. You think Nigerians would be using social media freely as they like today with a military govt? That would be just the tip of the iceberg.
Lately, I've been thinking that the stories we were fed about Abacha's regime might have been propaganda.
DeleteThere was no inflation during Abacha's time.
The citizens were behaving sanely and cultural values were intact.
Today, the country is worse off, without values and the moral decadence now is nauseating with all the trash on social media. The politicians are terribly corrupt, insecurity is at a horrifying level and ritual murders have become a hobby for teenagers.
RIP Sir.

He lived well. Rest well Pa shonekan
ReplyDeleteMay his soul rest in peace, Amen. Each time i see his name, i remember when he was appointed Interim Head of Govt. I was in Oron and all of a sudden Okada men started jubilating, riding their Okada in a dangerous manner. When i asked the reason behind their celebration, they said an Akwa Ibom man had been appointed as Head of Govt. I was surprised and asked who? They said Ernes Usenekong. True Story. Rest in Peace, Sir.
