God can make the wrong decisions of the people around you work in your favour. So instead of looking for someone to blame, try to see the hand of God at work in your situation.
Joseph discovered three things:
(1) When God wants you in a palace, nobody can keep you in a prison.
(2) Your future isn't in the hands of others; it's in the hands of God.
(3) Your God-given assignment in life doesn't call for the cooperation or approval of everyone, but it does require the cooperation of one person - you. Joseph's brothers made a wrong decision by resenting him. Potiphar's wife made a wrong decision by falsely accusing him. And the butler made a wrong decision by turning his back on him. But God did the right thing by him! He arranged every step Joseph took, all the way to the throne. After years apart, Joseph stood face-to-face with those who had treated him so badly, and said, 'You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good' (Genesis 50:20 NIV).
Try to understand this: the purposes of God will eventually overcome the plans of men. No one can prevent God from using you, blessing you and giving you success, except you. So keep your heart and your attitude right! Paul's words will encourage us: 'We are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan' (Ephesians 1:11-12 NLT). So, look for the hand of God in 'everything'.

ReplyDeleteI grew up in ikoyi and the Registry is opposite the road leading to our house has always been ETI -OSA LG MARRIAGE REGISTRY. The one in Abuja was AMAC MARRIAGE REGISTRY until it was changed to MINISTRY OF INTERIOR MARRIAGE REGISTRY🤷
Their duties are enshrined in the 1999 constitution (As amended) AND The Marriage Act.
Everything was fine until Buhari's govt came to power with so many backward policies but will just stick to this.
Now, FG created Ministry Of Interior...what do they do exactly??? Does anyone know cos I don't??? So this ministry have to generate income so what do they do, they removed those Local Govts from doing their STATUTORY DUTIES and gave to this unknown ministry not even the Ministry of Justice considering there is a LAW guiding "court marriages" viz a viz Marriage Act.
Eti-Osa took the Federal Govt to court based on those laws so basically, if you were married in that Registry before Ministry of Interior took over, you're good. You can check your marriage certificates, the Local govt should be boldly written on it.
To answer your question Dainty T, the people who are affected should wait for the determination of the Suit cos the truth is the Federal Govt will appeal the decision and so on and so forth until the final judgement. So it's either they wait it out until then or get a lawyer who can advise them accordingly cos their monies will not be refunded.
Now to Oga Sheep...if the Federal Govt has been conducting Marriages all this time, why are they being sued now????🤷 No lawyer will represent Eti-Osa LG if they don't have a case so why fight for what they never had???why bother to sue at all???SMH🤦♀️
I'm only here to make this clear cos the truth is whether you like it or not... Buhari's Govt is the worst. Jonathan was no better but he surrounded himself with intelligent people who pushed the economy and at the time, to a developing country but here we are in 2021, protecting cows...from technology to cows...and you see nothing wrong with that.

Yesterday at the shop around 3pm,I heard gunshot sound from very close to my shop. We all went out and saw two guys coming out of this POS shop close to mine,one with a long gun and the other a short one. They didn't even mind that the people around saw them,they both climbed on the bike they came with and left.
ReplyDeleteMy shop neighbor that runs a POS shop,a mother of 5 kids was shot in the head. The whole thing looks like something that they were sent.
This people shot this lady in the forehead and left. 😭😭😭😭 Blood everywhere. As of today,we haven't heard anything yet whether she is alive or dead,God forbid.
Her husband is an offshore worker that isn't even around. The guys around took her to the hospital but after that incident, everyone just locked up and left.
I was so shaken yesterday I had an headache. Very young and beautiful lady. Her youngest kids are three year old twins.
May God not let us meet our death in the course of making a legitimate livelihood

I got this gig online and from the onset told the client that my business is a startup and the price we agreed on was based on that and not because it's actually what is obtainable, it's a repetitive job and so I told him that the price will be reviewed upwards as time goes on, he never accepted or rejected it. So far he has been impressed by the work. Now to the matter, he brought me another job and I told him how much I will charge, which going by industry standard is nothing compared to my contemporaries, he asked me if it is negotiable and I said no, it's been two days since he read the chat and has not said anything. I don't want to lose the job, the truth is the price I gave him is fair but I think he is psyching me because I agreed to the previous amount, dunno if I should reach out to him or just let it slid and stand my ground. What do you guys think? I'll come back to read comments

ReplyDeleteA friend has been admitted for weeks in a general hospital due to a surgery that went wrong. We have not only been worried about the Paims she is going through but the medical bills keep increasing daily. In that particular general hospital, different people and organizations come once in a while with gifts and toleteries. But since first week of December they have been receiving Christmas hampers, raw and cooked food, cash gifts. Yesterday evening, a particular Catholic church sent her Reverend sisters to come and clear the bills of everyone in that particular ward. They did not give them the money but paid it in the hospital account. They also dashed Bible to the Christians amongst them. See jubilation. This God, we are yet speaking of your goodness. You do it again and again.
