5. When the owner of the ball got annoyed, game over
6. When you hit your toes against a stone and you notice blood, you quickly cover the area of injury with sand as a form of first aid and play continues
7. You can't dribble the owner too much, this may lead him to stop the game by taking away his ball.
8. No matter how many goals you scored, the winner would be determined by the last team to score

10.There is no referee.
11.There is fault only if the fault is serious .
12.The 2 best players can not play in the same team so everyone chooses their players.
13.If you are chosen last it is a humiliation and you will remain in defense.

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me - The Twelve Days of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhat in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?
This week, I found out.
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.
It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.
• The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
• Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
• Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.
• The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.
• The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
• The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
• Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
• The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
• Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
• The ten lords a-leaping were the Ten Commandments.
• The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
• The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.
This is your history lesson for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening.
Now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol.

Watching the video of those aboard a plane that went for BBL brought back a memory.
ReplyDeleteIn one of my numerous rides this same year. Early this year I guess. I picked up a woman from one of the fine estate on the mainland here in lasgidi. She entered my car and knelt on the floor instead of sitting. In my mind I was wondering what could be wrong but I kept my cool. It's a trip I can't afford to decline because of the high surge it came with.
Few seconds into the trip, she started narrating how she flew in from the UK to come have her butt enhanced here. I was surprised and asked
Me: why leave where they have good health care to come do this in Nigeria?
My rider: My sister, UK has a specified amount of fat they can transfer at a time. It is in their surgery code of conduct. I don't want them telling me how big my butt should look and it is very expensive over there.
Me: hope you didn't patronize the supposed quack lady in lekki?
My rider: oh that one ( She mentioned her name) She has destroyed lives o. My friend is still planning to have her own done with her
