There is a half Valentine Day sermon (“Learning to listen”, I think) on how he saw his wife at a product launch walking with an Isioma at oriental hotel while he was giving an interview on the red carpet. He asked Isioma who he apparently knew, about Susu, slid into her DM to ask to be her friend after he researched and liked what he saw (she and her friends in praise worship) on her page, apart from the beauty he was attracted to.
ReplyDeleteThe video he saw on her IG page of Susu and her friends sitting on the floor singing worship songs years before they started dating is also on YouTube as “Sunshine medley” or so. The wife had returned to Nigeria from the UK to do a project titled “I will wait” targeted at waiting young women. Ironically she met hers while trying to go to 100 churches to perform her project for singles to wait. His testimony made me research to confirm and I stumbled on the “I will wait” poem Susu had come to perform apparently aided by Kemi Lala who she knew into Nollywood.
He detailed how she said “no” even after a birthday trip to Tanzania and after being his video vixen in his “Made for you” video shot in NY, which he said was largely inspired by her, saying he had met her years before but that “God will not give you something till he knows you can handle it”, a reference to his earlier reckless years.
He never said he met her abroad or in church. I believe what he is trying to correct is the impression out there that his wife led him to Christ. His Mom, Pastor Rosemary W is a prayerful woman and he actually had found Christ and was going to Tony Rapu’s TPH well before he met Susu.
After turning him down twice, he turned to God to help him talk to her even admitting “thinking his failure to convince her was punishment for all the girls whose heart he broke”. They remained best friends and talked on phone daily and months after “The Wedding Party Movie”, Susu during their now daily friends conversation said “Banky you know you are my husband”. The rest is history and in the now. It’s an interesting love story that will endure because of its foundation.
He is trying to give glory and honor to whom it belongs. God will never share His glory. He met God, who let him to meet a good godly woman. That can happen anywhere and not only in church for those waiting. Be your good self. I met mine in the workplace decades ago and I know someone who met theirs on the queue in a banking hall here. Find your way to Christ and he will direct your steps to where the person is. His testimony at The Waterbrook Church, is all over his own YouTube and TWB page. Susu needs to amplify his clarification at some point as I was under the impression she led him to Christ until I listened to the testimony and his teachings where he clarified. To the many women whose hearts he admitted he broke, I pray you mend and move in Jesus Name and not descend to hating his wife and Joy. God will bring you your own in His time.
He had a very godly upbringing till he ran wild in his 20s and found his way back later. All glory belongs to God. I do not know them in person, I’m much older with young adult American kids who I pray find true love as I pray for all singles in their 20s to any age🙏🏽. I thank God for them always. After listening to “Selense” and “Destiny”, I see the result of his mother’s prayer that he often talked about in his YouTube teachings. Prayer is never lost, a child constantly prayed over by godly parents will eventually find their way back to God. I love them and pray blessings upon them in Jesus Name.
The steps of the righteous are ordered by God. He had seen her before that fateful day without God allowing him to really notice her until he was ready and able to handle “pearls”. Give costly pearls to a pig and they mess it up to paraphrase the Bible. That’s what he means by God led him to her.
