Lift my life, Not my Casket
*THE TEXT*
1 Thessalonians 5:11
_Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing._
THE TALK
_“It takes 6-8 people to lift your casket when you die._
_Imagine the possibilities if those 6-8 people lifted you in life”._
That statement stunned me when I read it.
*Oh, how we tend to look after the dead more than we care for the living!*
*We eulogize the dead whose lives we never energised.*
*What’s the point of lifting my casket when you never bothered to lift my life?*
What’s the point of placing flowers around my grave when you never sent them to me when I could actually smell them?
Why do we often this?
Well, myself and my friend , Pastor Clement Okusi discussed this and a few reasons came to mind.
*First, Procrastination*
*Second, Presumption*
*Third, Proximity*
When I read this devotional few days ago, it really impacted on me and I asked God to help me get to the point I can lift people.
So I want to thank the angels on this blog, which Stella is championing, doing this selfless service of lifting people.

ReplyDeleteAfter parboiling your rice. Fry your protein in the oil you'll be using to cook the rice. Since your protein has been seasoned with spices,it will give your rice a nice aroma.
Remove the meat,fry your onions, tomatoes,pepper, etc like you want to make stew.Add in your stock and let it boil. Add in your rice then. The water should be same level with your rice or depending on how soft your parboiled rice is.
If I'm cooking the rice for home use which isn't in a very big pot,I use foil paper to cover the pot before using the pot cover. This is where the truck of the rice absorbing the stock and all and the party flavor comes from. Remember to add your garlic/ginger/bayleaf.
If it's for shop/sale that I'll have to cook in a big pot
What I do is to cut this sacks and motors bag and make it big and place on the pot before covering.
Once the water dries off,allow it to "burn" for a bit for extra extra smokey aroma.

It's too late to change David's story but not yours! If you succeed in your career and fail at home, your achievements will be hollow. Apart from your relationship with God, your first priority should be to love your spouse and dedicate yourself to the children in your care. David wrote, 'I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart' (Psalm 101:2 NIV). Sadly, David's best wasn't good enough. But by God's grace, your story can be different!

Yesterday I visited my kids. Seeing them for the second time ,since after the death of their father, gave me alot of relieve.
Although I broke down but was so happy .I have really missed them. I wasn't allowed to take them,for the fear I night hurt them and myself. seeing them crying to be with me ,breaks me the more. So I had no choice than to stay with them . this morning I woke up so early prepare their meal and got them ready for school.
How do i convince my in-laws to release my kids to me today.

I never knew I really miss her this much, she went for Omugwo, and her eye problem increase (cataract) that really made her to stay long cos Doc gave her a recommended glasses and asked her to avoid cooking with firewood for like 4/6months if no improvement she will have to go for surgery but thank God she is fine now and no surgery for now.
My mom is looking so beautiful, fresh and young. Seriously God should just bless every Children oh, so that ones in awhile you bring your parents around to enjoy the good life. Kudos to my lastborn that took really good care of my dad all the period my mom was away.

From when I got pregnant for my daughter,the father said I should abort the child but young and naive me I couldn't go through with it. It's been many years now and he has never seen her. He doesn't want to be in her life. Many times I have been so broke that I will call him to ask for help but once he knows it's me he will hang up. He is now married and does not want a taint to his name. I named the child after him as my father did not allow me her after me or himself claiming that if I do that in their family the girl will die. It's only my parents that know that he is alive even though they have never seen him. I told my daughter and anyone that cares to ask that her father is dead and that he died before she was even born. After holding up this lies for many years,she disturbed me so much that she wants to know her father's people. The pressure was much and I finally called her father one day to speak with her without telling him that he was dead to her. The idiot told her that he was her father and that he will send her 5k. 5k after many years? My asked him why he hated her and refused to take care of her. He was talking gibberish. After that day,she was so happy that she did have a father and even wrote it in her diary. After that day,each time she calls him he doesn't pick till date. After some weeks I saw my daughter crying and writing in her diary how no one wants her. How she hated her father. How she is going to become something so that her father and her stepsisters will look for her and she will also reject them. I felt so bad that day.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't sleep last night, was just tossing on the bed, who else gets restless when it's coming to the end of the year and you have not achieved half of what you set out to achieve in the beginning of the year. You know that feeling of not doing the right things.
Well, I thank God for the gift of good health and life. With these two, goals would be achieved with time.

DeleteHmmmmn. I don't want to even think about it. I cried yesterday when I read all what my friends have achieved this year. I was both happy and jealous of them. Imagine being a stay at home nursing mom for almost 8 months. Some days I'm happy,some days I'm sad and overwhelmed.
DeleteAll in all,thank God for gift of life.
Next year,I will push myself to either learn a skill or start up a petty business.

Goodmorning all, reading the post of yesterday got me really thinking is family truly everything? Siblings you once shared a strong bond in your childhood do they just change all of a sudden or could distance be the cause? My immediate younger sis . We are both in our 30’s unmarried. I am in Naija she is the Canada. I work and doing ok . But I noticed this past month whenever I call her she won’t pick my calls and even ignore messages. My bro also resides where she is . My parents were having issues between themselves and I called my bro to inform him on what was going on . He was on the phone and even listened to my dad ranting on the manner my mum spoke to him earlier.he eventually called them and tried to make peace. I called my sis only for her to say am out and I shld chat up until this moment she never responded or called me back . I wasn’t feeling well the other day I told her and she said ok and never bothered to check up. Infact , I remember visiting in 2018, her behavior was so strange like food she will buy in the house she will complain that ahn don’t finish it u know how it is here. I spent over a week in Canada then told my brother to take to the grocery store I shopped and made soup and stew she cooked and carried to work . I was just looking at her I didn’t say anything but I wasn’t smiling or discussing with her till I left back to Nigeria. I never told my parents just kept mum. My mum called me this week saying I have been calling your sister she isn’t picking or responding to my calls. I told her I don’t know. Whenever she picks she will respond to her . I ended it at that. Pls what cld be the reason for this attitude? Even that day I called I even mentioned that I was trying to check up on her . She just said ok. I have been praying for her but won’t message her for now.
