I agree with Ramsey totally but he should also talk to his close friend AY,who can't act to save his life and dishing out hurriedly put together movies and shouting box office king upandan.
ReplyDeleteTrue!!! He should also talk to playnetwork because their remakes of vintage Nigerian movies leave a lot to be desired
DeleteIf a student can't pass exams, the problem is the teachers? 😏😏😏😏😏
ReplyDeleteRamsey, you see that Nolly-Noah's ship,
it has sailed tey tey in the early 90s and 2000. Na charlatans dey perform now. Persin go sleep in Big
brothel house for 90 days and come out to become an "actor"
Jokers.
Yes, sometimes it can be the fault of a teacher. We used to fail Maths in my school until a new teacher came onboard and really simplified the concepts in a way we could understand.
DeleteYour last paragraph says a lot Ramsey, you’ll watch some roles & wonder why the director thought he/she was the best fit!
ReplyDeleteOkay. It's his field, he knows better.
ReplyDeleteBut, some actors are just not good at acting, no matter what you do.
ReplyDelete@Metoyou....Then it’s the director and producer’s fault for giving such person a role
DeleteExactly Shes.
Delete*Shea
DeleteExample, Mimi Orjiekwe, she is a real pain to watch
DeleteThat one that speaks through her nose and doing funne upandan
DeleteSome Nollywood movies just make me cringe.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I get shy onthe actor/actress's behalf.
Some abi most? I no dey watch o, with their rubbish forming even on top village character. Na waste of time.
DeleteAnytime I watch movies directed by Biodun Stephen, I see the importance of a good director.
ReplyDelete🤣
DeleteI agree
DeleteBiodun Stephens is Good at what she does
Most times it is the budget. Insisting that a particular scene be repeated until it is well delivered is time consuming and Time is money
ReplyDeleteMovie making has so many moving parts that to nail down the specifics of why a production failed is difficult. Nollywood movies need good screenwriters, let us look at the content of much of the scripts, poor storytelling. Very rarely do I see a tale that is mind-blowing, but that is true too for Hollywood and Bollywood. I won't hold the Nigerian industry to a higher standard especially that the industry is so new in comparison.
ReplyDeleteMy greatest issue with Nollywood films remain sound editing. Good sound editing is rare even with big budget films. Harsh sounds, music dubbed louder than speech, sound editing is still developing.
Directors, producing, acting. Is a mix bag. Directing is an art, also is the actor's ability to take direction. But no directing or acting will make up for a poorly casted film. Many times the wrong actor has been casted for the role. When bad casting happens no amount of good directing can help it. You want a really great product, you have to hit every single mark and that is why moviemaking is so tricky and surprising.
Ramsey, even you have been slacking off on your deliveries. Last few films I saw of you I get a feeling you are not as passionate about the craft as you used to be, or you have gotten too comfortable. Please find back your passion and be willing to step outside of your comfort zone. Show us something we have never seen before, give us that performance that even you didn't know was inside of you.
I like the way you write
DeleteEasy to read
👍👍
Well said
ReplyDeleteRamsey Noah wey dey refurbish movies up and down. He should tell his friend AY to stop acting.
ReplyDeleteCasting pregnant women for roles fit for non pregnant women is mind boggling, like are they the only actors on ground. Only Nollywood do this. Too bad.
ReplyDeleteLike are we blind that we can’t see this women are pregnant. Nollywood is so nonchalant about quality filmmaking. You guys need to wake up. Too many movies with the same story with different actors. Junk everywhere. You all need to go on break.
ReplyDeleteYou've said it all.
DeleteCopying foreign movies upandan
ReplyDeleteYou need this advice more, Ramsey. You act as if you are acting, you and your colleague, AY. You are not good at what you do, at all.
ReplyDeleteSay whaaaat? Ramnsey is point blank Nollywood's best actor. Watch his current movies and see how he has grown his craft from 10 to 100. I watched his early days in the Blackarrow movie and he was good, but in Living in Bondage he took it to Hollywood acting standards. Guy was reminding me of Leonardo's character in D'jango, he was that goood and he is very versatile. He actually is passionate about what he does - no chasing clout, no switching to politics, no showing off anything even his family - all he does is work work work.
Delete1.13 👌
DeleteYou lie, Ramaey is not a good actor, he is a fantastic actor, he is in a league of his own. One of Hollywood's best.
DeleteNollywood
DeleteTruth is, present day Ramsey is a better actor than he was in his younger years.
DeleteI do agree that AY is terrible
