Today is woman crush Wednesday and I choose myself to crush on and I celebrate me for running one of the best joints in town...Please believe me when i tell you that running a Blog is not child's play, thinking up new content is not child's play, trying to engage and keep people commenting is not child's play, trying to decide on which stories to post and which to ignore is not easy, deciding not to promote s#xual content and others ain't easy, especially when you see that it is what the commenters want but you know it ain't right to repost..... Running a blog eh, one needs 25 hours a day and more and that is why once it gets to a particular time i stop making posts and try to relax for the next day....

ReplyDeleteThe story of Sarah teaches about Renewed Faith, Triumph and Confidence in God.
Originally named Sarai meaning 'my Princess', the beautiful wife of Abraham whose whole life revolved around her husband was barren. Even in her childless state, it was clear that she thought more about her husband than herself. She revered and loved her husband so much that she was willing to go the extra mile to get him an heir. (Genesis 12:10-12)
As Sarai, she exhibited the traits of an unbeliever even though she was committed to her husband who served Jehovah and was obedient to His command. 11 years after they received the promise of a child (Genesis 12:4), Sarai took matters into her own hands instead of letting God do what He promised which led to a rivalry that has run in the keenest animosity through ages and is yet to quench.
Then comes the turning point in her life when God established His covenant with Abram, thus changing his name from Abram to Abraham and by extension, Sarai to Sarah which means (Princess of all or Queen).
Sarah is often known as a woman of faith but it wasn't always so at first. Genesis 16 tells us how it really was for the couple going through childlessness.
She got upset.
She blamed herself.
She blamed God.
She told her husband to try someone else... classic case of a despaired barren woman. Both of them displayed their lack of faith in God, even laughed when told they were going to conceive. She was old and worn out when she decided to let go and yield to God. In spite of her initial laugh, she came to believe that God is able to do what He said.
This is where the story gets really perplexing for me. In Genesis 20..A philistine king, Abimelech wanted Sarah as part of his harem to which God appeared in his dream and warned him. In previous chapters, it has been ascertained that Sarah was old yet when this young king met her, he desired her for a wife. Clearly, when the angels asked Sarah "is there anything too hard for the Lord" (Genesis 18:14), it wasn't just a rhetorical question.
I'm convinced without a shadow of doubt that Sarah's womb was not the only thing put back to good condition. Her physical appearance: everything from her face to body, to bones, to hair, to skin was refreshed, renewed and revived again. After all, Isaiah 40:31 said "Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with winds like eagle. They will run and not be weary, walk and not faint". Anyone who has studied about the eagle 🦅 would know that mid-age, it breaks its old beaks and nails and feathers to grow new ones shadowing also 2 Corinthians 5:17.
So it doesn't matter how long it takes..when God is ready for you, He will renew you.
I know it is so difficult to have faith when faced with obvious impossibilities. We might even laugh in unbelief when people try to encourage us not to lose faith. Every person has moments of doubts regarding the plan of God in his/her life but as long as our faith can overcome the doubts we have and know that God's words never fail, we will rise up like an eagle.

You are right that as Christians sometimes our faith may waver despite our spiritual journey and fervent walk with God. We might reach that breaking point and have our faith shakened just like Sarah. Yet God in his infinite mercies understands and even when we are faithless he still remains faithful because he cannot deny himself(2Tim2:13)
He will revive our spirit and make us flourish like a palm tree(Psalm 92:12)Though the violent winds blows it does not break same way he won't let us fall under the raging tempest of our challenges and storms of life. We will always come out TRIUMPHIANT.
He went further and said: Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and (ever)GREEN.(Psalm 92:14) ditto to Sarah's situation.
He always keeps his promise at his time and nothing is impossible with him(like 1:37).

I pray things improve in Nigeria, unfortunately there are no measures to sort things out.
When I mentioned same somewhere else (not for African foods tho) they thought I was lying. But compared to what one earns here, food is quite cheap oh. Imagine 1kg of parboiled rice for 99cents and basmati for 1.49cents. Tomatoes nko, chicken nko? As long as it is produced locally, it would be affordable.

Morality is no longer in existence and we all have one thing or the other to say in the defense of these celebs. Just yesterday, I caught a 12year old boy and his kid bro pressing his phone while I went to their house for a private lesson. I collected the phone and something just told me to check his browser. I checked and saw his web search and it was "tiwa savage sex video". I was shocked!!! I don't know if they have watched already but I saw that it brought out results of the search. This is a boy that they got a browsing phone for jus because he complained of homework and he always cannot wait for his mum to return so as to do his homework. I don't even know if I should tell his parents or just mind my business. These are issues, these are what these children are exposed to. It's sad that people defend the rubbish and madness that happens these days. I just hope this boy and his brother ain't doing bad things. I know they have been exposed to different things with that smartphone. I am just so sad especially with the rubbish everywhere on social media these days. Are our kids safe anymore? Let us keep justifying nonsense o, we will have to answer to them one day!

ReplyDeleteSo I was trying to order something for my lil sis online yesterday and when it was time to pay, I left my work desk to go get my purse. That was where my dilemma started.
I searched my diaper bag ( which was the bag I used last), it wasn't there. I checked the purse part of my baby's stroller, it wasn't there. I remembered the last time I used it was in church on Sunday and had had no reason to bring it out so if it wasn't in the diaper bag or in the stroller, then it was definitely not in the house and so the search started. Ha! I searched and search the entire house (BTW, this was during my lunch break). Now this purse contains practically most of the important things I own. My residence card, my daughter's citizen card, two ATM cards of mine and one of my husband's, my bus pass, our meal cards etc.
When I didn't find it, I called my husband and asked if he had seen it. He replied in the negative. At this point, I already knew this card was not in the house and I started crying. See ehn, we are supposed to go on a small family vacation soon and everything had been sorted and tickets have also been booked but without my card, I wouldn't be able go with my daughter.
I went back to work after my lunch break and was just crying while working. Imagine typing on keyboard whole tears were flowing, yea, that was me.
Remember I said the last place I remembered using it was in church and from church, my friend's family and I took bolt straight home. So after work, I started calling people from church to ask if they have seen my purse but no one had.
Someone promised to help me go to church today to check thoroughly but I was desperate so I took bolt (as I no kuku get bus pass) and headed to her shop to collect church key. I searched the length and breadth of the entire church and my purse wasn't there. I started crying again because I had hope I will find it in church.

I’m 41 weeks gone and I’m yet to go into labor, no sign, no health issues, my journey so far has been very smooth. Yesterday I had appointment with my OBN/GYN and he prescribed I take about 60mls of castor oil to help to induce labor.
He told me I will likely have diarrhea after taking it.
Please who have been in my shoe and what do I expect?. It wasn’t like this with my other pregnancy.

ReplyDeleteI was listening to this preacher on one radio station early in the morning, he was preaching about sowing seeds.
Then he shared stories of how people used money meant for important things in their lives to sow seeds and they got blessed in multiple folds. He shared that of a listener who collected his savings from a co-operative society to roof his house but used it to sow seeds to promote his preaching on radio instead and got blessed, he shared others too, the one that angered me most was the one he shared of a student who used his/her school fees to sow seed and God blessed him or her, he now proceeded to encourage people to use any money with them to sow seeds.
I was so angry. Why encourage even students to give their school fees to you? Is that a good teaching as a man of God? I pity people who obey all the instructions given by these so called preachers. If I was a member of his church, I would stop going there. I cannot allow one man of god to teach my kids rubbish.
Such people are charlatans, the Bible already tells us that in the end times there will be false teachers and prophets.
