INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD


There is a question people ask new mothers that vexes my spirit and that is “ Is it normal delivery?”. Abeg which one is abnormal?.

I used to think having a cesarean delivery was a walk in the park the way people used to talk down on mothers that had gone through it. I heard things like it was for the weak or someone who is too lazy to push till I experienced it.

Hmnn....the pain I experienced after the cesarean section was out of this world, they kept increasing the dosage of painkillers before it was ditched for a new product.

The cut got infected after I was discharged, yet I had to carry my baby back to the hospital several times for check up. It was a painful and crazy period for me. Someone somewhere would now think it is okay to ask me if my delivery was normal or talk down at me by calling me lazy.....Chai!! that person would have themselves to blame for the kind of response that they would get.

If you are guilty of doing this too, abeg stop. Stop it really. The joy of child birth is a healthy mother and child.

To every woman out there kudos to you, you rock. 

And to every one who has lost a baby or miscarried, may God give you double for your troubles. You will carry your bundles of joy .

PINKYS CORNER

Hmmm, some mother's are not worth calling a mother. 

There is this girl (lets call her Tolu) that is schooling at Poly Ibadan but has never for a day gone home for holiday or to ask for feeding. You might be asking yourself how I got to know?(I stay very close to poly Ibadan and this said lady is staying with a young woman in my compound).

The woman is a friend to Tolu's mother so I think when she got admission, Tolu's mum came to Ibadan and handed over her daughter to her friend, so instead of  renting an apartment, the woman took her in because she stays alone(the said woman is a single mother and her son is in school).


The issue is, Tolu has not been going home and also she comes in late from school which has made this woman angry, at times, she won't even come home for like 2weeks, when asked she will say she went to stay with a friend who was teaching her some departmental courses. 

I think this has been going on for a while before I moved into that compound, so last week, the woman called the mother to report her daughter to her but her response was "My daughter is decent and I know every of her movement"(which means they both communicate).

Kasala Kan burst yesterday, the father came to Ibadan unannounced because each time he asked the mother about their daughter, she will say she just called but whenever the father tries calling, Tolu won't pick the call. The father came to our compound around 7pm yesterday without even calling but his daughter was not around, they called her but she didn't pick up until the mother called to tell her the father was at Ibadan waiting for her even with that she came back around some minutes to 10pm. 

The father was angry which led him to beat her to comma, we all were outside begging the man, not quite long an old man came with a police officer to arrest the father but we neighbors didn't allow the police man take the father away.


We were so angry and asked the man why Will he do such a thing and more so if you are to be this girl's father, will you be happy wasting your money on unserious fellow? This was when we all knew, including the father that this girl is pregnant and her the person responsible for it was the old man who came with a police man. 

We were shocked, infact, the man said, the mother knows and more so he has been the one paying all the whole lapo money the mother is owing in Lagos which the husband was not aware of because he gives her money, pay Tolu's school fees and do the necessary things as a man.


It was like a dream, the man took his phone and called the wife, in order to confirm all what the old man said( this man will be up to 50 to 60years) but the wife replied "Daddy Tolu, se nitori e Le se fe pa mi lomo, anything te ba gbo, a jo joko so ni(is that why you want to kill her, we can sit and settle anything that happens). 

He was perplexed and was forced to curse the little girl and her mother with tears rolling down his eyes. Then he made a statement saying "If I meet your mother in that house when I get to Lagos, I will kill her and wait for police to arrest me".


On hearing all what happened, the police man left and I told my neighbor to call the mother and tell her what the man said, so as to prevent the devil from taking over. This morning she updated me saying she called but the woman cursed her for causing problem in her home but she has sent her a text. Then we decided to call the man to know if he is in Lagos because we are sure he didnt make it to Lagos again last night when he left us. we called and he said he was presently on his way to his wife's family house to tender the case before taking acting..


*Who is your mother to you? A role model or destiny destroyer?



Hmmmm.... to you the mum might be a destiny destroyer but the pregnant lady, the mum might be her role model.... Pinky your Amebo needs an award ooooooh....
