No matter how inadequate you feel today, remember these words: 'I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace...take heart! I have overcome the world' (John 16:33 NIV). Your job is to 'take heart' because Jehovah-Shalom is with you, and to trust Christ the 'overcomer' to handle the circumstances for you!

ReplyDeleteIf there was anyone close to being a feminist, it was Deborah! A Judge Prophetess Warrior Extraordinaire. She sings and writes songs too..a multitalented Queen and one of the most influential women of the bible.
Deborah..whose name means bee which is a symbolic etymology of a leader.
Everything she did, she did on her own free will..a true woman of valour. She refused to allow issues of gender keep her from her mission in life. It's important to note that she was never chosen to become a Judge or Warrior..instead, she rose to the occasion. She raised an army of midwives and would work mostly with women to achieve victory.
The significance of the troop leader (Barak) of her army who wouldn't go to battle without her by his side foreshadowed how men find strength with great women by their side. Judges 4:8
Sensing the fear in him, Deborah prophesied that the glory of the victory would belong to a woman and that goes to show just how much of girl power believer she is.
Her remarkable leadership has many facets that she could have accomplished well in today's Politics, Literature, Law, Music and Religion. That's a lot for a woman who wasn't attached to a man's name - I'm not certain if Deborah was actually married (debatable).
Before women found their voice, the story of Deborah was used to argue for their right to preach, hold political office, vote in elections and enter the political sphere (Cue Lydia of Philippi). I guess we all have Deborah, a true Mother of Israel to thank for that. Judges 5:7

ReplyDeleteI don't know how to cope with this one. For few weeks now my neighbor wakes me up at midnight with her holy ghost fire shouting while doing midnight prayer. Each time her shout wakes me, I find it difficult to go back to sleep. Na so l go dey awake till morning. In order not to waste my night. I decided to also do midnight prayers and l am enjoying it. When she wakes me as usual with her shout, l will pick my Bible and start my own midnight prayer though my prayers are always solemn. She started another trend this Monday. She is now burning incense. From the moment she starts, everywhere will be choked with incense smell till she finish. Seems she put it off when she finish prayer. As it stands now l cannot even do the midnight prayer again because I will be coughing through out and l can't sleep. Watin l do this woman biko. How do l go about this before someone tags me a witch

2) He arrived Nigeria but one of his bag/luggage with his name tag was missing. He made a complaint and he was told to go home that the airport officials will look for it and give him a call
3) He got a call around midnight that his bag had been found and that he should come pick it that night. He decided against going that night. He instead went to NAHCO in the afternoon.
4) On getting to NAHCO he was surrounded by over zealous Nigerian security operatives -DSS, NDLEA etc. The bag he was shown indeed had his name tag but it was not his own. Someone had removed his original tag from his missing bag and tagged it to the bag which had possibly hard drugs.
5) He insisted that it was not his bag and proceeded to show them photos of his luggage which he took before arriving Nigeria.
6) Despite the photos he went through rigorous screening that afternoon before he was let go. Suppose he did not have the photos. He said only God knows what his life would have become.
7) That same afternoon he approached Turkish airlines and caused a scene at there office. He said something about using his connection to make trouble with Turkish airlines and eventually Turkish airlines compensated him heavily.
8) He advised all travellers to *always take pictures of their luggage* as that's what saved him.

What does he have to gain with taking the traveler’s bag that’s drug-free? DeleteSomething similar happened to us in 2016 on our way back from Dubai. We had so much luggage because of my niece who was born there. Someone added an extra luggage of baby stroller to ours and even wrote the baby’s name on the tag. When we got to Lagos, customers queried us about that extra luggage and we told them it wasn’t ours while identifying ours. After much much, they let us go.
