NEIGHBOURHOOD AMEBO

This gist is that type that sounds like a lie, but na true.

There's this guy that lives on my street, he owns the duplex he lives in, I even heard he has other houses in Lagos including in Lekki phase 1,.  he has a young wife and a son, and likes greeting me when he's passing, he's a car dealer but I have also noticed his love for animals, he rears goats, so he stops by my shop to pick stems of vegetables for the goats, yesterday:

Recently when he came to pick the stuff, I was reading a story online about the guy that took his girlfriend outside and told her about how his friends wanted to take turns to sleep with her amidst tears, so we started talking about the issue and then he told me a story , he said him and some of his friends from the past were doing things like that, so one day they picked up this girl, brought her to their hotel, told her that they'll all have her which she was okay with, they did and paid her...

She started complaining that she was weak and sleepy, everyone of them refused her sleeping in his room, except for one of them who took her to his room and that was the last they heard of the girl, the guy himself started giving them attitude, wouldn't let them into the room even when he had claimed that the girl was gone, well he said they later found out after a year that the guy was dating the said girl, they tried to talk to him about the girl, he resigned from his job, moved to Abuja and severed all connections with them:::

Later they heard that the guy got a job in one of the oil companies, he quickly married the girl, that it was them that were ashamed of themselves not the guy, he said it took them years to get the guys number and until date, he has refused showing them where he lives or anything about his family (Wife or kids):

He said one time when he visited Abuja and they hanged out together, he brought his wife along, he say fear no let am look the girl for eyes sef, he kept telling himself that shebi na the babe wey we gather gbensh be this, the guy cleaned her up well, he said the whole thing taught him to never lose hope in anything in this life, that till date, he is still fighting for a place in the life of his friend and the club girl they all lashed, even though the girl in the story (the real story on the Internet) was a street girl, the guy valued her enough to shield her from his friends hence his tears, well me sef also learned that hope still dey my side, somebody son gonna find me one day and change me from Amebo to better pelzin..... Tankiuuuu

WOW.... this is great but sounds like a lie!.....

INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD

Growing up I used to go the extra mile for people, friends, family et al . I love to see people around me happy. With time after learning the hard way, I learnt to find a balance and stop doing things for people to my detriment.

After a while I stopped completely, I refused to do anything for people outside my comfort zone apart from family because I wasn’t getting the same energy back.

For example when I was in school a very close friend borrowed my laptop despite the fact I needed it that week, I decided to postpone what I wanted to do till the following week. When the laptop was returned it was damaged, I gave a repairer and he told me when he opened up the laptop it had water, weavon oil and all manner in it.

I was angry but after small begging I let the matter go. The laptop is still damaged till date. New laptop that was just few months old. So weeks later she got her laptop and I asked her to borrow me to complete my project and she told me flatly that she couldn’t borrow me because she had series of movies to watch.

I was pained but my eyes opened to the fact that I was surrounded by people who would always take from me and give nothing back.

Everyone knew then if they have a problem go to me but when I needed them they were conveniently absent. So I just stopped I became mount Zion that couldn’t be moved.

The last few days when my son was in the hospital I had friends and strangers that went over and beyond for me. My sisters weren’t left out. This is the third time this year strangers have rallied round to help me in ways I can’t imagine. The moral supports I have received can’t be quantified.

They had to leave their comfort zone and shelve their plans to help me. I am humbled and grateful, I actually didn’t expect so much support.

I have been asking myself, if the table was turned would I do the same?. I have promised to pay it forward. I will not allow a few bad eggs stop me from doing good for others always, with a balance though because I tend to carry people matter for head pass the owner sef.

My faith in humanity has been restored.

Nice one!

    1. Biko allow me to use your umbrella small Miss Ess. Thank you in advance nne.

In my unsolicited opinion from last week's back to back drama ehn, my conclusion is that all the actors and participants had one thing in common: "No wise counsel". As simple as it sounds, the place of wise counsel in life, relationships and marriage could be the major difference between peace, war and disgrace. That you have parents, siblings, friends, fans and a spouse does not guarantee you will enjoy the best counsel.

This is why I don't blame those who send chronicles at all. They have the benefit of reading all sides of the argument and that segment is my absolute favourite on this blog. I've learned so much about life and marriage there just by reading people's stories and BVs' responses. At the end of the day, there is no great and bad advice; the one that works for your peculiar situation is the "good" one but at least you were able to choose right because there were diverse options.

Be you a man or woman, surround yourself with people who are "wiser" than you and whose lives and realities reflect this God-given wisdom. Your rich friend with a PhD may not be the right person to share certain issues with or get advice from. Book smart, street smart and pure wisdom are three different pillars that serve different purposes in life.

For instance, who advised Nedu's ex-wife to do that public call out when the courts are there to listen and rule? I bet she thought her longsuffering ex-husband wouldn't "expose" the other matter but he shocked her with receipts. I totally had fun laughing at her unbelievable stupidity. Who also advised Annie to do that tasteless callout bikonu? She raised valid issues no doubt but not online now. Ah-han! Has she now solved the problem? Oh-ho! You either divorced or sued a philandering spouse my dear Mrs. Idibia. The third option would be to hold your peace forever. Whoever told Annie that a public callout was a 4th option thoroughly fooled her. The person just use her catch better September cruise. She wants to fight Tuface and Pero that are the Chairman and vice of the shameless people's association? Online? Ngwanu see. Those ones just dey n*ck dey go; dem no even send her kobo message.

They all need to learn from Paul Okoye's wife, Damilola Adegbite and Lilian Esoro. Those ladies have solid advisors with first grade akon'uche. Call them what you will but I admire them for obviously seeking superior counsel and "applying" same. Some of you even have good counselors but your village people will not allow you to listen and apply undiluted wisdom. Kwantinu o. Keep entertaining us with your "fastest fingers" online. After all, we have nothing to lose by reading your embarrassing tales. Una doh.

  3. LOOSING ONE TO GAIN ANOTHER. WHAT A PITY?
    WATCH & PRAY.

She gave her car key to the youngest child in the car while she went to buy some stuff in the mall.

Upon her return, the boy had misplaced the key and the whole family was stranded on the road.

Observing her discomfort with innocent kids without a masculine shepherd, I joined the search party.

For each passing minute without the key, she landed the boy that had the key with a slap or a concentrated curse!

After few minutes, she strayed in frustration into a motorbike's way and was knocked down.

In the process of helping her up and picking the pieces of her belongings, the car key was found but she was dead.

She had already lost herself before the key was found!

Many people lose themselves in search of what is missing in their lives.

Many lose their moral limb while searching for the "missing rib!"

Some lose their health while searching for material wealth.

I know those who lost their message while searching for relevance and sponsors.

Some lose their marriage while searching for a mirage.

Some have lost their integrity while looking for affinity.

Don't get missing because something was lost. Sometimes, you just need to ignore the emotional missing link so you can remain spiritually connected.

Don't lose your mind because the job is lost.

Don't lose your children while searching for their school fees.

Don't lose your ministry while searching for tithes, offerings, first fruit and members.

Don't lose your mantle while searching for title.

When you eventually discovered or acquired those things, greater things (your life, relationship, character, values & virtues) would have probably dissolved!

The apostles were looking for peace in the midst of storm, but by the time Jesus restored calmness they had lost their faith just as Elimelech lost his life and sons in search of greener pastures.

When you eventually get the hammer, will your nail still be strong to hold the woods of your integrity in a frame?

By the time you become popular, would you not be strange to dignity?

By the time you get visa or fame, would your passport to purity not have torn?

When you eventually make the money, would your marriage, friendship and relationships still have meaning?

God bless you as you ponder on this & remember PUT GOD FIRST.

    1. Stell, let me share my stew recipe with u for chicken stew. Firstly, I boil my chicken with curry, thyme, ginger, diced onion and garlic, salt, and Maggie cubes. Then I blend a mixture of tomatoes, pepper, and red bell pepper and boil it in a pot to dry. Then I pour in my vegetable oil and first use it to fry my chicken, after taking out my chicken, I pour in diced spring onion, fry it just a little then pour in the tomatoes I boiled dry earlier and stir for about 2o minutes on medium heat ensuring it does not burn so u stir intensely, then I pour in some curry powder, little ginger and garlic powder, I add some nutmeg powder, if you have the nut you can grate some into your stew, then I add some Maggi cubes and salt to taste, then pour in your chicken broth that you boiled earlier, you can add some little water if the stew is too thick and leave to boil a little. You are good to go. Stew ready☺

  4. I have come to understand that men reign in this earth by what they know. You become a servant to what you are ignorant of. So also in the kingdom, we reign and dominate by knowledge (psalm 24:1), The earth is the lord's and its fullness there of. The lord who owns everything is our father. When you lack the knowledge of what you have in him and who you are in him, you will live like a servant while you are an heir.

  14. Good afternoon. Everyone I hope you have a productive week.

This past week was quite eventful and also ended on a sad note for me. A lady I know committed suicide last weekend and I have cried so much. I have begged God to accept her soul and grant her eternal rest.

However further enquiries showed that her office colleagues and team members never treated her well and her boss will always threatened her and even when she resigned, her boss threatened to change the resignation letter to a letter of redundancy...This young lady was in so much and people tried to reach out to her, but she was already down at dark hole.

She was an amazing person and makes the best banana bread that my taste buds has ever savoured.

I would like to appeal to you; Line manager, business owner, HOD, Manager, Unit Head, Team lead and even team members. Please nobody has it easy! Watch your actions to your fellow colleagues and sub-ordinates and even your children ..Nigeria of now is hurting and people are traumatized but don't add to it...Be kind, show empathy and follow peace with all men...Mental health is real and depression is real...Please let us be mindful of everyone around us..

  49. That story about the friend getting married to the lady they all slept with just tire me. I have no problem that the friend got married to the lady, but then is it really called for treating the friends like they were all sent from hell?afterall they're all guilty of the same offense just that he fell in love with the lady in question and decided to marry her.

If his reason for avoiding them had been an attempt of trying to save the lady emotional/traumatic pain, it's no problem and very understandable. But then avoiding them like evil souls as if maybe he had previously introduced her as his fiancee to them only for him to come in and catch them sleeping with her is not understandable to me at all 🤔.

Again if Maybe he really wasn't of such nature and was coerced into such deeds by his friends, then we would understand why he would put up such behavior...cos truly they would feel like the sons of the devil to him. (Before someone starts thinking otherwise,am not in support of whatever they did to the lady any bit..but I just couldn't help but wonder at how the whole matter later went).

... anyways it's their own matter,I just wish this never happened at all...a group of friends sleeping with one lady!!😥😥

  56. SDK, for your Nigerian chicken stew, use plum tomatoes in cans. TRS is a good brand. Let your tomatoes and Red bell peppers be the same quantity. Then add red chill peppers and scotch bonnets (to your pepper tolerance level), onions, garlic and ginger. Blend and boil down mixture till dry. Don't let it burn. Use oil for frying the chicken to fry the stew. You need to fry for a long time to get rid of the raw taste of the tomatoes. Add salt and Maggi cubes to taste. When stew is well fried, add fried chicken, simmer for some minutes and turn off fire
