Can you imagine the interest God pays?
(4) Giving your temperament. Everybody you meet struggles with anxieties and fights battles they usually don't talk about. So, your smile and word of encouragement can be like a lifeline that helps keep them afloat that day.
Selfishness is so innate in each of us that it's like breathing; we do it without thinking. So, in order to change we must rearrange our priorities and reprogramme our minds and decide, 'I will not let this day pass until I have said or done something to help, bless, and encourage another human being.' God told Abraham, 'I will bless you...and you shall be a blessing' (Genesis 12:2 NKJV).

ReplyDeleteThis woman has one of the worst lines in the Bible "Curse God and Die".
Okay fine, she shared in her incorruptible husband's bad luck..she has seen her life collapse, lost everything including her children because the devil had a wager with God but her gracelessness in the midst of their trails was downright evil and unless hell wasn't real then, I don't see how cursing God and dying was the better option.
Her character is reflective to most human character. Most people with ordinary spiritual life would have reacted just the way she did. Their often conclusion is that the God who allows great calamities to befall righteous people deserves curse. I can't judge her too much tho. Which one of us can be sure of how we would respond in similar circumstances??
I never read/saw at any point where she encouraged her husband to remain steadfast. She probably left at some point, only to return after Job was restored back. There could also be a possibility that she never returned and Job remarried after he was restored. But the known fact is that just like Eve, Satan used her to tempt her husband but the difference is she failed while the former succeeded.
Job's wife is just like some of us. We are happy, thankful and devoted when everything is going well but when severe trails come, we lose our faith.
Some of us add to the misery when we see a Child of God going through trials.
Some of us cease our complaining only when things get better.
And finally, Some of us find our way back to God while some are long gone. 💔
