INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD.

A little boy of about ten to twelve years old was rushed to the emergency. He had a crazy and deep gash on his head and neck. There was blood everywhere. He hit is head on a glass window in his house.

His scream of pain was heart wrenching. His mom stood unbothered and even said it was good for him, since he was too playful. I refuse to judge her abeg.

 Make God heal and restore my son wey carry me come hospital, na my prayer
be that. The boy screamed for hours, he later quietened after he was stitched and knocked out. He was said to have been playing alone.

Growing up my friends and I would run around climbing trees and fences, jumping down the stairs to see who could jump the highest and longest distance. Many bones were broken or dislocated, I was lucky I escaped with bruises here and there. Those broken bones and injuries came with additional beatings from our parents. I didn’t understand the reasons for the beatings then but now I do. They were probably frustrated with the additional stress and financial burden that they would have had to deal with.

The boy’s parent had to pay almost a hundred thousand. I can imagine their anger and pain especially in this economic situation. It could have been avoided. But kids will be kids.

May the good Lord continue to protect and keep this children for us.

NEIGHBOURHOOD AMEBO

You see this gist eeeh, na that type wey de make person wonder how many good people remain for this life, Hmmmmm....

This gist is about my beautiful neighbors wey I love so much, one na Mariam, she's a single mom of a grown daughter, the other one is Abdul, he is a young man with two daughters and a beautiful wife, they have one elderly person amongst them, a man with wife and plenty kids who acts as the father of all faithful Muslims around here, let's call him Ibrahim.

Mariam knew Abdul before he married his wife, but what people didn't know is that they have been gbenshing a lot, infact it's been happening with some reckless abandonment, according to people wey know, they said sometime ago that Ibrahim's wife caught them gbenshing seriously in the man's matrimonial home, her eyes could not behold the iniquity, she ran outside, Abdul didn't follow her immediately because Mariam said she wants to cum, that she cannot come all the way from her house and not cum (Chaii).

Later when he went to Ibrahim's wife, he begged her to shut up and promised to repent, but did he repent? Na ebee kwa nu, hmmmm they continued, the worst is that this Hanty will visit them and be complaining about the woman's food, infact one day she asked her to come out of the kitchen that she will cook something delicious for them, the way Abdul likes it, the wife quickly asked, ''how did you know how he likes his food''  she said she meant to say how most of the men she dated likes that particular soup...

 Hmmmmm

On this fateful day, I was in the bathroom bathing and minding my business when I heard people screaming, I quickly ran out with foam all over my body (Asili no fit kill me, mba), I wore my skirt and blouse, I had gotten to the gate before I noticed that I was not wearing pant ma o bu bra, I kuku carry myself like that de go, the sweetness of gossip is when it's hot and when you hear it from the horses mouth.

On getting there, see crowd (infact this my area has turned to Upper-Iweka Onitsha, one day one trouble), Abdul's wife was just screaming and crying, speaking Yoruba, I didn't hear everything she was saying, so I started crying too, went closer, hugged her, she was so happy to see me (chaiii good caring neighbor).

 I asked her what happened, she pointed inside their room for me, I walked inside and saw Hanty Mariam sitting on the bare floor wrapped with the sheets shinning her eyes like thief-man torch, I didn't act surprised cos she had been a regular visitor, so I came back and asked her what happened, she said she had been hearing rumours of her husband's sexcapedes with Hanty, she didn't believe it, and she has also been reasoning some comments she makes sometimes in her house, so on this fateful day, she left for her shop as usual, then in the afternoon, her informant called to inform her that they've started work, so she took a bike and landed in the house, she said, that she could hear her husband's moaning from the parlour sef, immediately her husband saw her, he took to his heels, jumped the back fence and ran, Hanty wanted to run too but couldn't because she is naked, her clothes she removed at the parlour had been soaked into water by the madam of the house.

 I held her hand and was consoling her, then Mr Ibrahim came with other big big Alfas them and asked me to excuse them, they dispatched the crowd, we no know wetin come happen later..

 Abeg let me go and ask around if the gist don get update.... Una byeeeee

Na wah ooooooh.... why commit adultery at home? why not go far?
OK until next week.

PINKYS CORNER

We all have different perspective and idea about what Human Trafficking is all about but no matter the idea or knowledge we have about this, let's get into discussion about this.

"Human Trafficking is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for profit."

from the above definition, so many employees has failed to recognize that, employing a young or an old man as s a driver and later being used as a gate man, gardener or an errand boy at the same time, its bad(it's Human trafficking) because you deceived him into it.

A young girl who was taken away from her village to lagos with the motive of sending her to school and she playing her part as a cook has now become your laundry lady, your house keeper and even to the extent of you making the young girl gets to school very late everyday while your children have gone to school on or before 7am(it's unfair) watch your ways.

Some years back, before my NYSC, was employed by one Abeokuta woman, who came with her husband from Uk and she happens to be a Psyche-Doctor at the UK, was told I will just drive the couples for 3month because she has 3month to spend in Nigeria.

The pay was 45k monthly, was so happy and I was called upon the day she landed. Went to the airport,driver them them to Abeokuta (the husband is suffering from a partial stroke though).

Some days later,after getting to Abeokuta, at her house, I became the gateman, and not only that, was the one bathing the husband and feeding him which we never discussed about but I was glad and happy doing that because I have done such before.(My step dad suffered from the same for 6years and was the only one who cared for him). to make matter worse, a month after, I was washing the husband's clothes, fiaaam, she brought her and I opened up to her, " Madam, I cant wash yours, kindly take them to the Dry Cleaner", before I know wetin dey happen, she slapped me.

I didn't even bother, I finished what I was doing and took my things and left. I went to the man who employed me and asked for my salary and narrated what transpired.

After much discussion, I was paid 20k out of 45k and I left, crying bitterly, not because of I was humiliated but because I was deceived and still went on with the job.

It is wrong to lift other peoples work s yours... If you do that, it is me you are putting on the spot cos the owner will not know that it was not me that lifted it.

Hmmmm Pinky you didnt mail me back yesterday.. someone is accusing you of plagiarism and they have every right to call you out if it is true.

Please explin yourself in the comment section or send me a mail ASAP.

  1. Divine Health Confessions!!

    Thank you, Father, for sending Jesus to die for me. He died, was buried, and rose in victory for my justification. He died that I may no longer die, be sick, or be in pain. Therefore, I live a glorious life. Today, I declare that I will never be broken by infirmity and anything that binds because I have the eternal life of God in me. Praise God!

    9. If you have a hair routine and follow religiously, I believe your hair would become soft overtime. Deep condition (both protein and moisture dc) , apply leave in? Start a routine and stick to it, it's not only about buying products.
      Shea butter and coconut oil alone tend to leave ones hair brittle.
      Toodles

    10. Cantu contains Alcohol and dries hair out seriously, making it harder and more difficult to manage, such a horrible product.

      Eka have you heard of the LCO method? It means liquid, cream and oil.
      Your hair needs moisture, moisture softens the hair and makes it easier to detangle. Let your liquid be a water-based leave in conditioner. Try using the Pantene gold series Leave-in detangling milk. Then C is for creme or moisturiser. A lightweight hair moisturiser, not hair grease. I recommend the As I Am moisturising cream, if you are able to get, or the Pantene gold series hydrating creme conditioner. Let the O be an oil to seal in the moisture. You can also use hair grease (Soulmate, Dax, etc) for this step or shea butter, olive oil, and all.

      Stop using heat, heat dries out the hair especially if you don't use a heat protectant beforehand.

      Make water your best friend. Wash hair 1 to 2 times a week. You may wash on Saturday with a regular shampoo oland maybe Wednesday with a co-wash. A co-wash is a light conditioner for washing hair, when you use this, you don't need to use a conditioner afterward like you would if you used a regular shampoo. The As I Am coconut co-wash is very good. Speaking of regular shampoo, use a moisturising or hydrating shampoo and try to make sure hair is completely detangled before shampooing.

      Have a spray bottle, put water and oil of your choice plus a little conditioner. Spritz it on your hair during the week if you feel your hair is dry, to refresh it. Moisturise regularly and lock in moisture with oil.

      Wear a satin or silk bonnet to bed or sleep on a satin pillow. Cotton pillowcases tug on the hair when we twist and turn at night.

      Hope this helps.

    11. Forgot to also add hair porosity. I suspect you may have low porosity hair, Eka, although people say that porosity is not important in hair routine but I've found the knowledge of my hair porosity very helpful.

      A simple test (but may not be a 100% accurate) is to pluck a strand of hair from the root and put in a glass of water. If it is still floats after a few mins, it's low. If it sinks it is high.
      Low porosity hair takes a long while to absorb water so it's always dry, which results in it being hard (strong and tangling easily), while high porosity, on the contrary, absorbs water very quickly.

      I have low and what has helped is using more of water based products because I want to get moisture. Look at the ingredients of your shampoos and conditioner, let Aqua or water be the very first one. Alcohol dries out the hair horribly, in fact Cantu has alcohol as the 2nd ingredient on the list after water, meaning that it has a very high percentage of alcohol, 2nd highest after water, which is so bad for the hair. Low porosity also prefers moisture over protein and since you say Shea moisture which is rich in protein didn't work for you, I suspect you have low porosity hair as well.
      You want moisture and little protein for your hair. Look for hydrating products, not keratin products or collagen (both are protein). You also want to deep condition your hair under indirect heat (look for hydrating deep conditioners and sit under a steaming cap or dryer for a while for an hr or so. If you don't have those, apply the conditioner to your hair, wear a shower cap or a plastic bag and tied it down with a. Towel or scarf and just allow your body heat to act on the conditioner, sit for a while and then wash off. It really helps the moisture seep into the hair. Garnier fructis the banana flavor is a a good and affordable deep conditioner for dry hair, it comes in a round tub.

      Hope this helps.

    12. When washing your hair, make sure it is completely saturated with water before allying the shampoo. Use hot water, this opens the hair shafts and allows water to penetrate. Run water all over the hair till it is completely drenched before beginning to shampoo.

      After shampooing don't dry out the hair before applying the conditioner. Remember, the goal is to enhance moisture intake. Apply conditioner the rinsed hair which is still soaking wet. Then wait for at least 5 mins. You may use a shower cap, which will again increase the production of a little heat which will help the moisture intake (you may take your shower and bathe during this time) Afterwards, rinse out the conditioner, but not totally. You wnat to leave just a little behind. Don't use a towel to wrong out your hair, you want to retain the moisture as much as possible after washing the hair so use a t-shirt or a soft cotton cloth to just dab on the hair, but don't squeeze out the water. Apply Leave-in to very wet hair (this is your L) and leave to sit on it for a while (5-10mins) before epeoceesinf with the rest of the moisturising (the C and O). Then twist up the hair or plait or barid it. Your hair should be moisturised for a few days. Remember to sleep with a bonnet. After a few days you may cowash if you feel hair is dry or you may spray your hair from your spray bottle and repeat the LCO process.

      Don't use heat regularly and ensure you sue a heat protectant when you do.

      Curly Chemistry on YouTube is a good channel I recommend to check out.

  30. SOME SOCIAL RULES THAT MAY HELP YOU:

    1. Don’t call someone more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call, presume they have something important to attend to;

    2. Return money that you have borrowed even before the person that borrowed you remember or ask for it. It shows your integrity and character. Same goes with umbrellas, pens and lunch boxes.

    3. Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is giving you a lunch/dinner.

    4. Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids’ or ‘Why didn’t you buy a house?’ Or why don't you buy a car? For God’s sake it isn’t your problem;

    5. Always open the door for the person coming behind you. It doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl, senior or junior. You don’t grow small by treating someone well in public;

    6. If you take a taxi with a friend and he/she pays now, try paying next time;

    7. Respect different shades of opinions. Remember what's 6 to you will appear 9 to someone facing you. Besides, second opinion is good for an alternative;

    8. Never interrupt people talking. Allow them to pour it out. As they say, hear them all and filter them all;

    9. If you tease someone, and they don’t seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again. It encourages one to do more and it shows how appreciative you're;

    10. Say “thank you” when someone is helping you.

    11. Praise publicly. Criticize privately;

    12. There’s almost never a reason to comment on someone’s weight. Just say, “You look fantastic.” If they want to talk about losing weight, they will;

    13. When someone shows you a photo on their phone, don’t swipe left or right. You never know what’s next;

    14. If a colleague tells you they have a doctors' appointment, don’t ask what it’s for, just say "I hope you’re okay". Don’t put them in the uncomfortable position of having to tell you their personal illness. If they want you to know, they'll do so without your inquisitiveness;

    15. Treat the cleaner with the same respect as the CEO. Nobody is impressed at how rude you can treat someone below you but people will notice if you treat them with respect;

    16. If a person is speaking directly to you, staring at your phone is rude;

    17. Never give advice until you’re asked;

    18. When meeting someone after a long time, unless they want to talk about it, don’t ask them their age and salary;

    19. Mind your business unless anything involves you directly - just stay out of it;

    20. Remove your sunglasses if you are talking to anyone in the street. It is a sign of respect. Moreso, eye contact is as important as your speech; and

    21. Never talk about your riches in the midst of the poor. Similarly, don't talk about your children in the midst of the barren.

    22.After reading a good message try to say "Thanks for the message".

    APPRECIATION remains the easiest way of getting what you don't have....

    1. Hope you are loving the ladies unconditionally( do not run after ladies with excess beauty, polished grammar, killer dress sense, expensive perfume and human hair) and overlooking their flaws too and cutting your coat according to your material?

      Change starts with you.

      I really do not look out for those things except peace.
      The ladies I've dated care mostly about those things but I don't. I live a simple life
