  6. Yes it is. I agree. I'm making more money than I would have if I was permanently there. But it isn't just about money. It's the system. I still dey here because I no get wife and pikin. My children will not grow up in the zoo.
I also think it's easier to make good money over there if you're in the medical profession. That being said, carry your family run comot for this zoo if you can. Do it fast. Stella how body?

  7. People fail to realize that the reason a sensible people relocate abroad is not basically because they can make more money there,it’s because there is a system that makes security, education, health care, transportation and social amenities/facilities etc work. It’s easy to make money in Nigeria,I agree but after you’ve made the money,is your life secure?are your kids safe?if u fall down today with a serious ailment, how many hospitals have the facilities to take care of you immediately?these are the questions I asked myself and couldn’t answer before I relocated.

    1. This comment should be pinned. Very apt

      It's never about money.

The system will answer 80% of your prayer points. That is enough reason to leave here.

    4. I could have written this! The moment we realise that what we call luxuries in naija are just basic necessities abroad, the better for us.
It's really not about the money, the quality of life matters too.
The culture shock here for me was too much when I just moved. Here It took me a long while to get used to the fact that doors necessarily don't have to be locked. BECAUSE YOU ARE SAFE. I have lived in Europe for almost 20 years.
These little BIG things matter to me and my family and I wouldn't trade it.

    1. It depends on the type of business one is doing in Nigeria

  22. Yes, its true mostly because of taxes. And if you are an employer of labour, you have to pay the stipulated minimum wage. No cutting of corners to get quick riches over there.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes so true, illegally. Ask all these politically exposed people, investment scammers and so forth. Lots of shit u can get away with in Nigeria but u can't do that in Canada.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I see many saying only if you're in govt. That is the exact mindset keeping most people at the level they are, won't say more than that.

  25. That is like 1billion naira. how many of you saying yes have 1 billion naira in your account. even illegally, it is not easy to make 2million dollar anywhere. 10% of Nigeria population will not have that kind of money untill they die. You better japa if you want to.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Most times its not about the million but the comfort, lagal and steady progress.. I'd prefer to make that million dollars legally in Canada.
