The State command, Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the incident and said it happened on Sunday at Rungumau village in Dutse local Government, Jigawa State after her husband unveiled his plan to marry a second wife.
Adam explained that the woman had earlier protested after she got information about her husband’s plan to remarry his ex-wife whom he divorced years back.
She decided to use petrol inside her house and set the fire after the husband refused to abandon the plan.
“She decided to set herself in flames, she then ran outside shouting for help before residents came and quenched the fire and rescued her”, .
She survived with burns and is responding to treatment .

The man probably got angry and gave the first wife triple talaq without intending to but the religion doesn't permit mistake so either jokingly or without full intention the divorce is valid. Now the interesting part is you cannot say you made a mistake to divorce and you want to remarry, the woman will first observe idah then remarry another man who must sleep with her and divorce her before she can remarry the husband that mistakenly divorced her. Religion is always perverted by people because the true islamic law is that the woman must remarry the interim husband with the full intention of making the marriage work and do all to make the marriage successful but if the marriage fails, she can get divorced then remarry her first husband but people will just take advantage to sleep with the woman and divorce her the next morning.
