DeleteI vowed that when God blesses me, I won't be like the ungrateful lepers who didn't return to say thank you. I have experienced true poverty and depression. Post NYSC, I struggled for a job, none was forthcoming and then I dabbled into entrepreneurship. I was making ends meet through this, at least I could afford a meal per day and a roof over my head. Things were good until the economy crunch crunched harder. I was back to square one. Depression, being broke... I felt jinxed but I didn't give up.
ReplyDeleteI Keyed into the prayer thread here and to God be the glory, I now have a job. It is nothing grand, but coming from someone who has suffered for 4 years post graduating, this is a big deal for me. I have come to return all the glory to God because this is clearly His will and plan for me, not my making at all and even though I will be on probation for the first 3 months, I know that God would come through for me and I shall he permanented. Now that I am making plans to move to a strange land to resume work, I yet again, trust God that he shall provide all that I shall need to settle down.
Lastly, I want to encourage all those who are trusting God for a miracle. Don't give up! I faced the worst obstacles last month and if I had listened to the thoughts in my head, I would have ended it. This goes to show that when our miracles are close, the devil strikes the hardest. When your lips fail you, keep chanting "thank you Jesus", it will make you feel better.
To God be the glory.

Your Father in heaven will take care of your tomorrow as you rest in His love for you today. If He raised Jesus from the dead, surely He can provide the resources or the favor to pay your bills and cover your every need. My sister, focus on today.

ReplyDeleteHer story is one of redemption and restoration. Also showing the weakness and vulnerability of man in the most primal terms. Bathsheba is often viewed as an adulterous woman..a willing participant in King David's big sin but in actuality, she was sought out by the king. The bible didn't give all the details but it did say that she just finished her period and was unclean..hence, the bathing (2 Samuel 11:4). The king was the one on the rooftop scouring the area and happened to see her bathing in her house and sent for her. It didn't seem to me like she willingly agreed to commit adultery..more like saying no to a King wasn't an option for her.
I mean, this woman mourned her husband and waited till mourning period was over before agreeing to become one of the King's wife and not once did the Bible put any blame on her whatsoever.
Added to her grief of losing her husband, she also lost her baby (David got her pregnant) and was forced into a marriage with the man that murdered her husband. You can't convince me she wasn't seen as an outcast and a scarlet woman but she didn't let her circumstances define her.
She had another son (Solomon) for the king, saved the throne for him and became the queen mother and a very influential political figure in the kingdom.
The sin herself and David committed was supposed to destroy David's family and in foresight, his kingdom for 20 years (2 Samuel 12:10) but she played a major role in saving the kingdom from Adonijah who planned to steal the throne from his father..wisely navigated for her son to be the King and became the prime minister. What a woman!
Ultimately, she was one of the 5 women mentioned in Jesus genealogy. She didn't do shabbily for a woman with a tainted reputation.

Note that your calls and check ins don’t necessarily have to be centered on the issue on ground all the time. You can bring up random gist to take his mind off for a while. Most importantly, listen more than you speak.
You are a great friend for wanting to be there for your guy.

It was a touchy subject for us but now I feel relieved and relaxed that I could and was finally able to talk about it.
