If the American state was overwhelmed with the burden of keeping the security in Afghanistan, they should have reached out to the International community for help. They started good work in Afghanistan only to send them back 20 years back. His actions were not well thought through, and the Afghan people are left to their fate. My heart goes out to them. See how many were running and climbing on the body of planes just to get away, it was such a sad scene cos they realise they are in trouble. Pakistan has closed its borders at least they should allow them to just cross over and just be safe even if they are sheltered just by the boarder crossing.

I pray the world comes to the aid of Afghan's. I believe that there are good and innocent persons in that town and our humanity must always come first before religion and all else.

My dear Tiana, was it Biden that began a withdrawal of troops there in 2020? Was it Biden that signed an agreement with the Taliban in Feb 2020?? Was it Biden that tried to bring the Taliban to the US for talks?? There’s only one US President that has spoken with the leader of a Militant group and thats Trump. He spoke directly to the Mulla. Mike Pompeo even took pictures with him.
DeleteTrump began a gradual withdrawal of troops from 13.000 to 8.000 and then agreed to a final withdrawal of troops on May 1, 2021. Biden came in and extended it to September first and then August 31.
The onus lies on the Afghan security forces but what do they do when the Taliban was invited to the table and given a chair.??
Trump is just being defensive because he signed the agreement but doesn’t want anyone blaming him.

A lot of armchair policy analysis which is usually not factual. Here a commitment by a previous administration on troop withdrawal cannot be changed by fiat. Trump is the one who commuted to troop withdrawal in line with popular demand for taxpayers to stop American policy of intervening and policing the workd. His base prefers to isolate america, keep immigrants out and have white supremacy reinstated. He met North Korean president, committed to troop withdrawal without proper due diligence. American troops cannot be completely withdrawn just like that.

Not to talk of “The Nimitz class” a class of ten nuclear-powered aircraft carriers in service with the United States Navy that can carry up to 90 planes and helicopters? The equipments of the world’s largest army are huge, they can deploy quickly but need planning to withdraw. America has Ships & Aircraft carriers in South Korea, Saudi, Japan, Germany etc. They cost taxpayers a lot and the mood here is not to spend so much on the military industrial complex again to police the world.
These decisions are made long before execution and Biden inherited a huge mess from Trump and is actually doing his best to clean up. I wonder if Nigerians that love Trump know how much he hates Nigeria & Nigerians. The only bla k member of his inner caucus was of Nigerian descent, Omarosa, and he had her disgraced out of the White House. Omarosa had been with him since the first few episodes of his “Apprentice” TV show. Biden inherited a commitment. Btw why could the Afghans not shore up their military with trillions of $ of taxpayer money. If there is more hoopla than this it’s because for the first time in modern America history, a black man is the Defence Secretary (Minister) so they want him to appear incompetent as everyone knows Trump committed us into troop withdrawal for his isolationist base.

It was clear that China told Biden to withdraw the troops from Afghanistan; Why? Because the want to be the world's power country's thereby dethroning USA from that postion which automatically makes USA a lesser country to CHINA.

You should try to google the timeline of troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. Did Biden sign that agreement with the Taliban in Feb 2020?? Did Biden’s Secretary of State, hold meetings abd take pictures with the Taliban?? Did Biden speak with the Mulla?? No US President except Trump, spoke with the Mulla. There was a lot of unfinished business so Biden changed it to Sept and then pulled it forward to August 31. America cannot stay there forever. It was time..

For those blaming Biden, this was not his doing. He has reversed a lot of evil by trump and postponed this by 3 months but we have a slim majority in the senate and our democracy is not Buhari’s type. The only thing I’m upset about is that only 2000 Afghan allies who helped the US & NATO have been resettled by Biden in Virginia. There are over 18,000 that he needs to evacuate, translators, cooks, intelligence Afghan officers that helped with the war need him to expedite their Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) and get them out of Afghanistan before they are butchered by the animals. Otherwise there is no blame in removing your troop after training and supporting them for 20 years! Most here want their taxes spent in Kentucky than Kabul. That is why taxes are so high. These wars and policing projects are endless. 20 year military fled just like that? How long do they want American lives sacrificed for them if they won’t stand up and fight the Taliban themselves. I wish they had grown a spine considering all the help they got but their cowardly President ran away. Look up pictures of Afghans taking refuge in the airport for those stealing Nigeria blind and creating the poverty stricken atmosphere for religion to become more toxic like it’s already happening to mannequins in one state. Nobody should wish for war in Naija but those in power need to make peaceful change to the quality of life of the youth to avoid the pictures of Afghans running out of Kabul. America will only evacuate its own, not the anchor baby if the parents are t American, but it’s own and ally Afghans to safety. The rest u fortunately will have to grow a spine & fix their country. I hope African obtuse leaders learn about allowing for good policies so they never have to see a day where MMA or Abuja Airport becomes a refugee center and mo ey cannot help anyone because of extremist take over.
