Now, I understand Psalm 23 better. 'The Lord is my Shepherd'. The sheep need the Shepherd for direction/guidance. These sheep wouldn't have jumped off the cliff if the Shepherd was nearby. The Shepherd would have guided them back to a safe place.

ReplyDeleteSheep are very gullible. That's why they are used in the Bible. They need to be guided by a loving Shepherd just like we humans need God's guidance if we want to be truly happy.
ReplyDeleteGoats on the other hand are very stubborn and refuse to be guided, hence the illustration of the sheep and the goat in the Bible
Haven't you noticed that wen u are driving on the road and one sheep crosses, just stop ur vehicle because the other sheep will put head weather you stopor not. Not so a goat, one can pass and others seeing the road is busy will wait back.
