Oh my God! This is sad news for my big bro. Let me call him right away
ReplyDeleteThis will make dollars scarce and hike the exchange rate further making commodities more expensive. Unless the federal government plans to sell to the public which they won't. Someone educate me if I'm wrong.
ReplyDeleteIf you need foreign exchange, go to the banks. It is easy to access. CBN is going to be selling more foreign exchange to the banks. I am not happy with CBN's decision, but from what Godwin Emiefele said, I understand the reasons for the decision.
DeleteAlexander easy to access for how long? Does CBN have enough in their reserve to meet the everyday dollar need?
DeleteIf they can guarantee regular supply as at when needed by the common man, then its a good idea, otherwise, na gbege be that. The Abokis on the streets will start hoarding and selling at ridiculously high prices.
Alexander it is not easy to buy forex from any bank. even for legitimate reasons like PTA or school fees. And the limits are frustrating. if I'm travelling for 5 weeks, how is $4,000 enough? hotel bills, feeding take that up. its a bit ridiculous please
DeleteHow does black market dominated by a particular region source foreign currency? For those that shout "dollar or pounds" in the streets, enjoy the boom. The government is not even hiding empowering the north over the future of the country. Chase the street sellers out and regulate the market, no way. It will affect our people comes back the answer which is at the detriment of the country. This country is dead already.
ReplyDeleteCBN doesn't sell dollars to black market operators, individuals do. Some bank officials also do round tripping. That it is dominated by North doesn't mean they have government support. Your country dead, Nigeria is not dead
DeleteAlex what do you mean CBN does not sell dollars to black market? Who are the BDC'S if not the black market dealers?
DeleteThey receive money from CBN twice every week.
Sleep on this one Sir if you're not properly informed.
The thing will go up again. Why can't CBN give to banks so people can walk in to banks and buy? UK sef na post office we dey buy.
ReplyDeleteYou are very sure CBN doesn't give to banks?
DeleteThe thing tire person o.
DeleteThen will give to their Northern brother's codedly.
ReplyDeleteWhich way to go Nigeria.... Which way to go.....
They will
DeleteOh let's see how it will play out.
ReplyDeleteI can not post with my moniker 😢😢🙈
ReplyDeleteI think is a step in right direction....
