Nigerian Govt Appoints Footballer Mikel Obi As Youth Ambassador

Nigerian government has appointed former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, as Youth Ambassador.

This was confirmed on Friday June 18,2021 at an event held at the National Stadium, Lagos, which was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare.

According to John Joshua - Akanji, the Special Adviser to Dare on Media,  Mikel Obi was described by the Minister as a “role model whose lasting legacies in football development has continued to have a positive impact on youths in the country.”

Mikel Obi was assured of Federal Government support whenever he chooses to invest in the country.

“Time will not permit me to say much about Mikel’s success as a footballer. He is our legend and a role model who has continued to impact the lives of youth positively.

“It is it my pleasure to appoint you as Nigeria Youth Ambassador. It’s a new portfolio and your role as youth ambassador will be made known to Nigerians,” Dare said.

In his response, Mikel Obi said: “I feel highly honoured to be appointed as Youth Ambassador of this country, it is a great feeling.

“I am happy with this partnership and I promise to do my best to encourage and inspire the youths towards national development, not just in football but in other sports like Basketball, Boxing among others.”

  1. Mikel Obi, onye dot ibe'm. I know you love this appointment. Congrats to you!!! One advice to you. Make sure you keep your hands clean and your record intact as not to be rubbished on the long run. Whoever serves the Nigerian government always end up indicted and regretful.

Never ruin the good name you got for yourself.

    1. like how many teenagers.many of those politicians are suffering from the 'sins' caused by many of you in the virtual space.the many of you rant at politicians eh,if one of them should contact any of you and desire to transfer 1million to your accounts, the way many of you will forget your harsh/spiteful words...odiegwu.but if they happen to forget that same promise to you.you will still forget your joy and revert back to spiteful criticisms.pls, give good advice and forget about those facing indictments.some of you are equally facing same in your churches...albeit silently/unknowingly.#advicelevel#

  3. Congrats to him, one Nigeria. But he should know that his kinsmen are daily slaughtered by this demonic, hateful, genocide hungry regime.
