Governor Akeredolu Says Senate Should Be Scrapped

 What do you think?

The money that Senate members collect is whooping...I kind of agree with him but many will kick at this because this is how they 'legally' chop from the National cake

    1. This guy has been making sense since his second term victory. A very smart and intelligent dude. And his advise and inputs since last week on national issues, has been brilliant. Overbloated NASS needs a reduced unicameral and part-time members.

  3. This is what they should be talking about and not one nonsense jamboree of constitutional amendment. Go back to 1963 constitution which was our first demand but they bluntly refused. Now we opted for total disintegration and they are crying foul.πŸ˜€πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜€πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜. Them never see anything. If you ever think or believe that the same northerners that structured Nigeria with the aid of Britain and it favours them will restructure it to stop favoring them, then you are the greatest of all fool.

    Now read what Gov. Okowa said;

    "No matter how you plea to be loyal to the north, you can't please them." ~ Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa.

  5. Straight up and ASAP. It has never been useful only serving as retirement for governors.

  6. Invariably Akeredolu is saying introduce the 1963 constitution and twerk a lil bit because it is the only people focus constitution so far in Nigeria..However I am not moved by what he said because he just wants to be politically correct and make sound bites here and there.

    But the good old question is ''WHO WILL BELL THE CAT''..Look at the charade of public hearing constitution reviews ongoing in the states...Did you see the common man in that event? No..Instead what we saw was a sitting senator calling another a ''thug'' and you want me to believe that she will implement whatever suggestions will be passed to her... Again even if the people's suggestions and views on the constitution amendments are given to the 2 houses of assembly, is it this same crop of senators and representatives that will accept my call for just unicameral assembly rather than bicameral system? I laugh in Greek.

    Explain to me how a CP, IG, AIG from the Northern region can effectively secure Lagos State when he does not know the terrain, the language neither does he know the locals and you want him to safeguard a community, a local government area, a state..Why can't we vote for who will be policing my community? Why can't I vote for who will be a judge rather than waiting for a governor to appoint and bribing them with ''tear rubber cars every year''...Why can't I have access to courts?

    This unitary system of government is not working and to think this system of government was the reason why Late Gen Aguiyi Ironsi was killed yet it is the same that we adopted till date...The solution is PRACTICE TRUE FEDERALISM, if I have oil, gold, uranium in my grandfather's compound; the government should pay for extraction and exploration instead of kicking me out and saying my ancestral home is now owned by the government, let all states be emerged and be made federating units or regions; let the centre be less powerful, lets stop making individuals more powerful than the office or institution they head.. Shikena!!

    1. This was the condition Nnamdi Kanu gave to them when they(government) met him at Enugu shortly after his release to go back to 1963 constitution and he will drop the Biafra agitation but the government said over their dead body. And here we are today. The North is afraid of 1963 constitution cos it gave power to the state to grow on their own pace.

  7. Can someone please explain to me “ Wetin governors dey do sef”

    If we are all complaining about the state of our lives and economy and blaming the president why do we have governors?

    The idea of federalism is for decentralized government with local government directly affecting the lives of the citizens. However we have been hoodwinked by local politicians to believe that only the Federal government matters.

  12. Akeredolu has an Igbo wife so he is not only intelligent but is pro federal constitution and I bet despises the sedated one and his stooges. Only Ondo & Ekiti will not bow to the frog eyed $9b monthly landlord of Lagos State easily. He is on his second term, probably en route america to retire. He has nothing to lose
