We need leaders not rulers..Nigeria should be a ''no country for old men''...We need vibrant and visionary leaders between 30 - 50 years...Anyone older than Nigerian independence is a NO NO for you...I don't envy who will take up the job cos he has a lot of work to do..First unify everyone on all front, heavy re-orientation of the people to remove all the brainwashing, misinformation and propaganda that this government has done to the people...
ReplyDeleteApart from President, we need to put in vibrant lawmakers who are there for the people not these ones practicing ''Afo Dimkpa politics'' and anti-people policies...Vote in proactive governors and not reactive governors..
elsewhere,the next president of Nigeria doesn't have a lot of work to do.infact his work has been well cut out for him.all that needs to happen now is for the wrong people in government to quit handling a lot of jobs!...simple!!!...end of story.
DeleteI do not prefer an Igbo to be the president of Nigeria. I do not prefer a Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani or any other tribe. I prefer a person who understands that what the Igbo man, or any other people group in Nigeria needs are: Proper infrastructure to make life livable and services rendered; Good education to prepare our children for competitiveness in a global economy, Good health care to protect our lives and make it possible to live like human beings, Good policing to ensure that criminality is reduced to the barest minimum and the innocent are given their due, Good legal system to make sure that justice is done and enforce the fact that all are equal before the law, etc. If it turns out that the best person to make sure that these get done is from Nnewi, or Bama or Kagara, let it be. If it becomes too hard to get a Nigerian to prioritize these, then, just as we look for the best coaches, worldwide, to prepare our football team for the world cup, let us hire anyone that can do it with no regard to race, nationality, colour or creed. Let us hire a person that will find a way to instill a healthy competition in productivity and excellence among the constituent parts of Nigeria; end this foolishness of imagining that we can profit, while doing very little, from the sweat of others by simply putting our brother in office; invariably, Nigeria will take its proper place in the world. It is OK by me to make that person a life president! That way, Nigeria may begin to reverse the years of the locust that we have been enduring from the madness of “Where is he from” as the primary issue in selecting a steward for our common patrimony!

In the Bible scripture Matthew 6:10. it is asked of us to pray for “God‘s kingdom to come and his will to be done on earth as in heaven.” Also chapter 37 of Psalms talks about this kingdom that will make the earth a paradise where the wicked will be gone. And there will be genuine peace. I look forward to a time when man is no longer the ruler of himself anywhere on earth. To be the best version of themselves. We can emerge as excellent individuals to build a sound country with mutual respect, self and collective awareness, introspection, genuine love for human beings and fear of God. One point loaded but doable agenda... Bring a dream country to life. The dream has been revealed but the obstacles are beyond sick.

ReplyDeleteThe problem with Nigeria is not just leadership but the structures in place or lack there of. Without the right or basic structures, a good leader may either fail or not succeed as well as he should. For example, we need a brand new constitution in this country done truly by the people and for the people. This 2023 ya'll are shouting about, does INEC have the structure to conduct a free and fair election? With good structures and systems in place it would be hard for politicians to steal money and appoint square pegs in round holes, and this would attract more honest people to politics; the people can decide if they want a central government, police etc or go back to regional politics. So many things can be done.
