Three Year ban from Nollywood for no reason at all? WOW!!!
In a recent Instagram live chat, the actress recounted how hurt she felt during the period where she suddenly stopped getting roles from casting directors or producers.
She says "I was knocked off English part of Nollywood for a few years and it was at the time when my career should have been up there, getting recognized and getting awards that was recognized all over Africa and being part of projects that had grossed millions in the cinemas. Then from nowhere being pushed out of the scene. That hurts. It was for about three plus years. I am still not there but I am working my way back up. I found another strategy to get back up there," Ade shared in a clip of the Instagram LIVE interview.
The actress first opened up about being blacklisted from a part of the industry in a recent Interview. She revealed that the blacklisting began right after her AMVCA nomination in 2017.

ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when you give recognition but the recipient can't defend it. Adunni needs to hone her craft some more and she will be irresistible to producers.
ReplyDeleteThis is why Lillian Bach and others found it hard to cope in the industry. After a while, the lapses can't be ignored anymore. Bolanle Ninalowo and Shaffy Bello also lived abroad a long time but took the time to learn and relearn Yoruba and become seasoned Yoruba and Nigerian-English speakers and now, they are thriving. There are only so many scripts on returnees and even people who have never been to MM2 can watch an American movie and play the role well enough to convince those who like them, only see the airport in movies. Ask Hank Anuku. After a while, the audience will get tired.
I think Adunni is a really good person but she needs to be a better actress as then her other assets can be the springboard instead of her foundation.
Please Bolanle is still not a good actor. Shaffy is good

DeleteCome on! There was one movie he did with ROK tv owner where he got her pregnant and she wanted to abort the baby. The way he pleaded. That scene got me teary-eyed. I can't remember the name but he is that good! 👌

Deleteanonymous clearly you not a movie watcher since you can't remember movie title Perfect Picture..That agbero role directed by a good director BiodunStephens was the only movie he was good in. Every other movie he's acted in where he's speaking his k.leg American accent he's extremely terrible. Maybe he shtick to yoruba movies and Agbero roles. Or he should only work with Biodun Stephen who is the only director that can bring the best out of him.

Well she's not grade A excellent actress but she's average, and I've seen worse actresses still being casted. Maybe their's is fcuk for roles i don't know.🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️who knows

Personally I hate hearing foreign (American or British) accent in Nigerian movies. They all seem so forced. I'd much rather switch off and pop in a real African American movie.
Even Adesua got the sense to tone in down and she's doing well. Plus she's a good actress
Anyway Ade maybe if you want ordinary basic asaba style low quality movies or basic yoruba movies you can get casted, or if you want cinema movies and can Kiss Mo Abudus ass hard enough you might make it to Dubai too for filming one of her nonsense superficial pretentious bougie movies 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 which is a representation of only 1% Nigerians (the rich)
The ansa is simple. Beef! Plus the ones that want to get under her skirt. For me,she's not a bad actress. I would working with mediocres affected her performances. And asides acting, she's quite talented. God knows best.

I didn't know her when she first entered the industry. Hopefully, she wasn't too full of herself, hence her castigation/reprimand.
I really envy her beauty though. Girl is foiiiiine. Even after two kids and a bad marriage.
