An elderly man identified as Obioma Ubani and his wife have been banished for 20 years over witchcraft allegations by a community in Obohia Amuda Isuochi in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
The embattled man was accused of engaging in witchcraft and killing one Professor Chike Ubani through that means.
He was adorned with raffia palms, popularly known as Omu while carrying along with him a nylon bag.
A narrator in the video said, ”This is the man that was accused of killing Prof Chike Ubani of Umuahia, Umuneze. He and his wife have been banished for 20 years from the community.”
In another scene, one of the community leaders warned the people not to assault Obioma. He was heard saying, “We have agreed that nobody will touch him, that was our decision.”
The people escorted him out of the community, singing what sounded like a dirge.

Some of these village people are wicked
ReplyDeleteHis type is not only in the village, they are also in the city.
DeleteIt is a crime to be old in this country.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could fight for them.
On the other hand, they wont banish domestic violence perpetrators, they won't banish rapists or fraudsters. Idiots
Thank you for speaking my mind.
DeleteThis same thing happened in my village few years back. One of the richest man then died and one man from another corner started boasting that he is the one responsible. They banished him for life
ReplyDeleteWahala too plenty for Nigeria
ReplyDeleteI no de pity this evil people
ReplyDelete@amebonawork why bring Orji Uzor Kalu's mother into this?
ReplyDeleteIn this age and time? It's well.
ReplyDeleteNa wa....o, I thought it happens only in Nollywood ..
ReplyDeleteIf only you guys know what most of these supposed old and frail men and women in the village arr capable of doing ehn, you will just keep quiet. I just pray non of you encounter them.
ReplyDeleteI loss my both parents in less than a year, all thanks to his cousin his was feeding and taking care of in the village. What was his reason, my mother was the reason for my father not going extra mile to provide luxury for him and his family. That my father only provides just their basic needs.
Kai! My mother suffered for good right years before her death. My father couldn't even last up to 11 months and died.
My uncle and his wife started claiming my father's land, properties and even our family house in the village. My brothers stood up to him and his wife. The wife openly and boldly told my brothers "ga juwe'se" (meaning that my brothers should go and ask questions before challenging them). These couple were terror to my community and everyone was scared of them. The story long abeg.
This is my experience and it has shaped my line of reasoning. The battles my family face on daily basis ehn, it's just God that is our protector.
My Lord! Such wickedness!! It's painful when evil prospers. Please what's the situation of things now?
DeleteAnon 12:05, I know exactly what you are talking about. I have many of them in my side. Those that have never encountered them will be pitying them, not knowing those people can do and undo. It’s good they didn’t beat the old man, I’m sure they did enough investigating before banishing him, let him leave the community with his witchcraft.
DeleteThey believe in witchcraft powers but not in the power of Jesus Christ that can
ReplyDeletecounter witchcraft and save witches, really?
If you think this is a lie, then your eyes havent been open to the spiritual thibgs of thid world. Evrn the bible cconfirms that things happen in the spiritual before they manifest in the physical. This sale thing happened to my neighbor. This wicked man n his wife were banished from their village in Akwaibom. Hes been boasting of being the oldest tenant in the house hus currently occupying. Over 20yrs. He was boasting the other day how he gave one of his old neigbour stroke cus that one was challenging him. Said he will be a vegetable but wont die. Killed his next door neighbors mum. He quarrels almost 3x a week with others in their compound. I don't always know where he keeps coming from every 3 or 4am but u will never see him go out. It wzs this man who made le know they use the book of psalms to curse someone or cast spell. I can clearly hear hil from my window every early morning cursing people and spitting and saying all sorts of evil and singing Christian sing even adding IJN!! That man ehhhhh!!! All the shops around his wife's downstairs dont sell anything exceot one very prayerful salon woman who gies to prophetic churches. I don tire to type, too many things
