Actor Yomi Fabiyi Stages Peaceful Protest Demanding That Colleague Baba Ijesha Be Granted Bail...

Yoruba Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi is in the forefront of a protest to Panti Police Station to protest against the unlawful detention of his colleague, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, who was accused of molesting a minor.

The protesters started the marched from Casino Bus Stop to Panti Police Station on Wednesday May 12,2021.

''Honesty is the FIRST CHAPTER in the book of WISDOM. No matter your status, education, position or religion, if you LACK HUMAN RIGHTS UNDERSTANDING, you are a THREAT TO PUBLIC PEACE and you are not civilised, humane and dignified. To display such on social media is to groom the next generation of bias and emotional people instead of those who will follow the law.

The LAW is the LAW. Sexual Assault etc are BAILABLE OFFENCES, the law enforcement MUST respect and honour this. It is one of the major pathway to a peaceful society. Leave emotions, don't create your own laws when a crime is committed and NEVER support any idea that will deny anybody his or her rights, IT MAY BE YOUR TURN TOMORROW whether you are on trial, INNOCENT or GUILTY''

They should release him and take possession of his International passport if he has any and ask him to report to the station every day..

It is better than keeping him there without allowing bail..... They cannot continue holding him without charging him.....It is a human rights violation cos the law has not pronounced him guilty.
I dont think he will run, they should allow bail.

  1. Yomi is right. We are castigating our leaders for oppression and corruption. This right here is an example of same. No matter what, his human right should not be trampled upon and this issue can attract international bodies if this protest goes on. Anyone who is supporting his continued detention has no justification to complain about all the ills going on in Nigeria.

I am a mother of girls as well as a lawyer, so I am very justified to speak on this and will stand by the law. He will definitely be tried but in the meantime let him have his limited freedom.

    2. I must commend his loyalty though ..having said that what Ijesha did was despicable however if the law says he can get bail then he gets bail except he is a flight risk ..Lets always follow the law or seek law reforms shouting on twitter and instagram is not law reform

  2. I don't think sexual molestation (especially a minor) with good evidence should be a bailable offence.

If the protesters are proud of what they are doing, why are they hiding their faces? Disgusting pigs

  13. Yomi Fabiyi is such an EFULEFU. I hope he is not married sha because no woman should put up with such a shameless man in the name of marriage. God forbid!

  14. He deserves everything thing he is going through despite the law that says until you are proved guilty ,you are innocent.

  15. Even though it is not right to detain him more than 24hrs without trial, let him stay there,I don't trust Nigeria system.

  16. Baba ijesha is going to escape if released. Do we have a good security system that can make sure he won't run? No. He should stay there

  17. People like Yomi Fabiyi are the reason why people like Uduak Akpan graduated from rape to murder. Imagine baba ijesha or yomi fabiyi with a child who is crying and threatening to expose them after being raped. Do they look/sound like they wouldn't kill that child to cover their tracks?

I even hear he runs a school. So, if a teacher in that school (if true) rapes/molests a child, this is how he will carry placard to protest for his release at Panti kwo? Or if a teacher at his child's school rapes her, this is the same energy he'll keep up to demand his bail abi? Shameless hypocrite! If you defend nonsense under my comment, your children will meet people like baba Ijesha and have people like yomi to defend their abusers. No be curse o. Na simple and fair prayer. Hypocrites! Tueh!!

  21. My understanding is that the courts grant bail and with the strike of the judicial workers Union, no court is sitting so they cannot release him.

I think the judge, when Ijesha is finally charged, can set bail that would be steep enough to prevent the perverted animal from roaming free until he is sentenced. If people know they may lose their properties, monies and freedom if he jumps bail, they would give themselves brain. Even Yomi has nothing with which to stand as surety.

This very stupid Yomi was initially demanding that Princess presents official letter of adoption and even be charged for what seemed like entrapment. This makes me suspect he is only in this to prevent people like him from the law.

The law needs to be improved and I hope Desmond Elliot and his colleagues can make themselves useful here. Which neighborhood do you want to release a child molester to? This is someone even Esabod said exposed himself to her while she hosted him in Ireland. The Baba Ijesha is very sick o!

    ReplyDelete
  22. What the Yomi should have done is to get a more credible person than him to fight this fight. He never picked a struggle from the beginning. He chose Baba ijesha's side and seem to want to use any avenue, including the law, to continue supporting him.
He's no human right activist, let's not be misguided.
Someone please offer him a role to help him out of his misery.
You need to look at the bunch of people supporting this man. Yomi has undoubtedly established himself as a raging fool. Another one is Bukky Black who ran from Nigeria while a murder case is hanging over her head.
You think these ones will advise Baba ijesha to honor a bail?
