A 29 year old Pharmacist Emmanuel, was arrested on April 2, 2020, in Aba, Abia State for making a social media post against the President and his late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

DeleteYes, there is freedom of speech but we are also fully responsible for whatever we say. That man has a case to answer.
DeleteBut wait o, how come nobody is calling out Sahara Reporters for their fake report on the matter? They intentionally twisted the story to say “Pharmacist who criticized Buhari” knowing fully well that this isn’t about criticism but more of a threat to lives.
These online media pages should also be held responsible for their mischievous representations of news

We all criticise this government event the hausas criticises as well but there is a limit to what one should say in a country where "militocracry" and dictatorship work together to over shadow democracy, we all need to be careful what we say publicly. Aside that, I will personally sue anybody who threaten my life more less the president. Foolish boy.

ReplyDeleteWe have to be careful what we put out there in the social media space. A lot of people are quick to comment on everything. To show they are up to date? Or to show they have data? I just dont know. Lets take some time to think first before we put it in writing and send it out. People every day are on the social media space threatening people. We have to understand that threats are not ok. Any form of violence should not be promoted in anyway. Not funny.. not a joke..

Many would comment on the gatherings/lavish parties of the troublers of Nigeria and "ask where Boko Haram is when you need them"? I have seen comments like that. Here in the US the comments are even worse. Obama could do no right to supremacists who burnt his image and said/did several things. People openly canvassed corona or worse on Trump. All of these are wrong but they are things folks have in their hearts and talk about but they cannot do it. If you want to be a democracy, be one. This is no democracy.
