It’s most likely cos they understand each other better. The man won’t expect his wife to cook because he is the head etc. They understand the gains being wealthy can buy them.

They understand each other better. One would not suspect the other person to be a gold digger. Their reasoning and behaviour will match. You know how poor people or people raised by poor parents behave, even if they are now rich, that poverty mentality will still be there small.
