The statement signed by the Queen reads..
"The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."
Buckingham Palace's response comes more than 36 hours after they both made a series of damning accusations in their first sit-down interview since stepping back from life as senior royals and moving to the US last year.
The interview plunged the royal household into a crisis. Some of the claims -- including the allegations of racism and Meghan's admission that she felt suicidal during her first pregnancy -- have the potential to deeply impact the royal family's reputation and have left a cloud of suspicion over some of its members.
A royal source told CNN that the family waited to respond until the interview had aired in the UK, to allow viewers in the country to watch it first.
Harry and Meghan do not plan to comment on the Tuesday statement, a spokesperson told CNN.
The couple are expecting their second child, a girl, this summer.
You do not engage a narcissist it only gives them ammo if you do. Every family has a thing or two they are dealing with.
ReplyDeleteKudos to the Palace.
"The whole family is saddened to learn the FULL EXTENT of HOW 'CHALLENGING' THE LAST FEW YEARS HAVE BEEN FOR HARRY AND MEGHAN...". Choi, Is it only me seeing this as a royal washing/shading? Meghan over talked to be honest. She should have known better the family she was entering that's it's totally classy. Them abandoning their royal duties was classy enough (a classic rebellion) but talking too much, HABA! She just show herself say she no classy reach. I know she might have experienced some things but talking too much was so unclassy imo

DeleteWell said Anonymous 09:16. I love their response 👌🏾.
DeleteAfter the interview, hope dey will stay off social media bah. It's obvious Meghan is pained that her son is not a Prince which is very silly.
She's just too problematic 🥴😏
Key word here is "while recollections may vary". Meaning things Megarry claimed probably happened differently
Delete@anon11:45 do you realize that when Queen Elizabeth is no more the children will become prince and princess. Please read up on the law and stop spewing trash.
DeleteAnonymous 12:45, thank you for the information. I am no novice when it comes to reading and especially about occuring situations, there's a lot of information online to read on this matter 🙏🏾.
DeleteYou only showcased your trashiness by your comment.
Move on already 🥴🥴

When manipulators speak, we know! Very calculated response to appear innocent of the accusations. Unfortunately, people will buy it.
DeleteI stand with Harry & Meghan!
Unfortunately, there are battles you look extremely stupid when you are fighting. It never makes sense till it's over.
I am glad she spoke her truth!
Bye
Anonymous 15:43 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🥴🥴🥴🥴👋🏾

DeleteWahala be like royal battle..... E no dey finish
ReplyDeleteVery Royal reply.
ReplyDeleteNo need throwing accusations and counter accusations. Las Las they are all still a family.
Honestly, I love their response.
DeleteThey can sort their squabbles away from prying eyes and ears.
People like us are just here for the tatafo.
Asin enh
DeleteWhat were they supposed to say? We didn't do this and that.
Wo, megan go dey alright
Thank God she used her own mouth to say the queen is nice to her.
Make we face Nigerians problems biko
Very classy response. They didn't throw tantrums. They didn't even give room for unnecessary arguments and names calling. That's royalty. E no be beans. E no dey market for sale. It's the classless folks that always love to shout and throw tantrums. CLASS IS CLASS at the end.
Deletebtw @push up, can she say the queen isn't nice before? lol. Make she try am. Though the queen is actually a nice person
They should also give a statement on when Andrew will face the FBI on pedophilia activities he was involved in with Epstein..... staged interview to cause distraction on Andrew.
ReplyDeleteLol, infact from history I read they have a lot of them in the royal family. Thank God Meghan ran when she had the opportunity to, if not those her children would be treated as in inferior in the future. Abeg make them just stay put for USA.
DeleteI am glad there are others here seeing well
DeleteHideous reply, believe that this is from their heart, you will believe anything
ReplyDeleteOf course its not from their heart but it is a very classy response
DeleteExtremely Classy
DeleteAnd what exactly is classy about a response full of guile? 'Classy' must definitely have a new meaning.
DeleteOh be quiet! anon 12:29
DeleteAnonymous 12:29, only people of Class will understand the response.
DeleteTake steps back please 🥴🥴.
13:13, please smell off! Ain't nothing classy about that wicked response up there.
DeleteAnon 15:46 you can't tell a classy response even if it smacked you in the face. Sit this one out and leave it for classy people.
DeleteTheir response is so mature. I didn't expect anything less anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt's like someone getting "OK" as a reply after ranting in a letter of 10 pages. You have said "nothing" but you have said a lot.
😭🤣🤣🤣
DeleteI hate when someone gives me an "okay" after plenty shalaye🤣
It can pain
What a royal reply
That Ok reply is so me.
DeleteI don’t like lengthy chat especially when it’s about arguments or going back and forth with explanations.
Some people find it mean, but oh well🤷🏼♀️
That is eh ... the pain no be here .... Hahahahaha
Delete@Richie rich before nko? They just gave her "ssssssower". They just taught and reminded her that she wasn't born royal hence her shalayes. There may be truth in what she was saying cos royalty actually comes with some ishes, but she went on talking too much forgetting that notice me no dey so work for royals. She over acted and showed herself
Delete11:14, take one side with your full chest. This is exactly how shalaye starts!
DeleteA very classy response, for the sake blood they share they made their response clean and not dirty. I say nice one.
ReplyDeleteAnon 09.34, you must live in the UK or must have dealt with a proper British to know this. These people are unrepentant, Periodt.
ReplyDeleteAnony @09:59, leave them may dem dey talk wetin, dem no know, British people and mind games are like 5 and 6, enough to drive anyone to self-harm.. They play dangerous psychological games...
DeleteAnonymous 09:59,but they showed her class. These people will be killing someone or stepping on your toes and pretend like there's nothing happening 😂.
DeleteMeghan has dealt with the wrong people though, she talks too much. All her shalaye was unnecessary, I hope aunty agbaya Oprah won't push them aside later.
They want to be private but granting interviews, a friend of Meghan was interviewed on ITV this morning by Philip Schofield and Holly and the friend made a fool of herself.
They should rest of please, they are doing more damage.
My dear! We that know them well know exactly what is going on here!
DeleteThe Queen refused to sign off on the initial statement and I take it to mean the palace wanted to battle and tell their own side. However, the monarchy can never come to that, the day it descends so low to be trading words and counter attacks with Mwghan, the day they should cease to exist. The thing about the monarchy is the mystique, let's all remember that Meghan has told "her truth"; the palace will have it's own truth and of course there's the real truth that no one will ever know. Mega and Harry, I hope you have vented out everything and you feel better. Now let's hope this is the end of the matter, its absurd to think with all the hunger, pandemic, pain and unspeakable things happening in the world, the attention is on some people who feel entitled to have everything they want on their own terms and not care for the institution or anyone they will throw under the bus to score cheap points.
ReplyDelete"...the attention is on some people who feel entitled to have everything they want on their own terms..."
DeleteWhat a horrible take coming from someone who never lived with them.
For humanity sake, issues of mental health and racism are not to be treated with levity regardless of whoever is involved or the individual's persona.
I do not know what part of the world you live in or you've lived in but if you have encountered racism maybe your take would have been slightly skewed. You may not have had anyone make reference to your skin colour, but have you been to an interview with your outstanding qualifications and perhaps your intelligent responses to interview questions and the 'chief'
interviewer says to your face ' I don't like your accent' (NB: Not a job in the media) and that becomes the end of your progression as far as the job is concerned ? Picture at NOI being told at the interview stage for the WTO job that they didn't like her accent. That is pretty damaging same as someone making reference to your skin colour. The saddest and the funniest part of this whole encounter was that it happened in a nation where you've got people with numerous, distinct and divergent 'native' accents from London to Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow down to Edinburgh but trust people to explain it away by blaming it on lack of exposure on the part of the interviewer or the organisation's closed door policy on diversity (if any). That's simply racism.
Aside from this letter, one thing I've learnt about the Brits as it affects racism is that they are quite pretentious about it unlike Americans, Italians, the French et al. For the latter nations, if they don't dig a black man/woman or the ethnic minorities they show it.They are quite expressive. They can call you all sorts, spit on you, throw a banana at you etc. But you see the Brits, it's always "prim and proper". It is systemic.
Finally, let's always try to understand the fact that these things do have adverse effects on the victims and as such learn to put their mental health first ahead of their personalities.

Well said Anonymous 10:00 👌🏾👌🏾
DeleteSimply put, we will not dance in the open mud with you. The Queen has seen all sorts in her long life.
ReplyDelete@anon 10:08 As in eh They just didn't give her the attention she wanted. They may be guilty but they just didn't get into the mud with her. She really show herself I no go lie. She just show say she no royal at all. Too much shalaye
DeleteYou people are here siding a monarch that was built on the back of racism... Just because the Queen is now old doesn't make her suddenly a nice person. Diana's blood will keep haunting them!
DeleteAnonymous 14:28, please leave Diana out of this.
DeleteNo one supports what was done to her, but these 2 trying to get attention thorough Diana is insane.
Atleast Meghan has openly told the entire world what hurts her most: her son wasn't given the Prince title 🥴.
They should stay out of public like they wanted, atleast they've said all their tell it or whatever story.
Is that all, e don finish abi? Not even surprised at all.
See as them damage themselves
14:28, are you minding them?
DeleteAnon 15:48: of all that was said, is that the extent of your comprehension. No wonder Nigerians struggle to pass IELTS. Very poor comprehension skills.
DeleteAnon 17:36, clap for yourself and hope ure able to apply for IELTS and chase after your migration trip. I'm not in that league my dear
DeleteTo those that know more than the palace and how Meghan lives with Harry, come and respond to the Royal statement.
ReplyDeleteLet the Royal family respond to Anderws and Epstein's too.
I wonder how Piers Morgan is going to respond to the press statement.
DeleteWhat do you also know about them apart from you read online? You also do as if you have lived with Meghan and Harry, defending them up and down. Let people have different opinion too. Stop attacking people who have different opinion from you. Everyone must not have the same opinion on a particular issue or topic.
DeleteI love this reply.... ROYAL AND CLASSY
ReplyDeleteClassy? 😲. Ndia ji unu n'
DeleteOru
15:53 Yes, it is classy. How would you have had it? They should have said their own side so you can call them liars? Class is when you are not struggling to be right nor are you nullifying the experience of another person.
DeleteThe will forever be royal damn what a reply so gracious and classy.no punchlines
ReplyDelete@anon 10:45 As in eh, No punchlines. Their reply make me shame for Meghan (even if she was saying the truth)
DeleteThe long awaited anger/interview/talk/bombshell has come and goingggg/gone. So Harry/Meghan focus on your family and dogs and speak no more about them. Any more utterances, na trouble una dey find o.
ReplyDeleteOya Meghan, enter kitchen go cook, Archie is hungry.
The Queen/British should talk about Biafra biko...
Very classy response.
ReplyDeleteFamily matters should be dealt with privately ALWAYs. That's the 1st rule of family living.
I just pray Harry doesn't grant another interview he should go and live a private life with his wife and son I was going through daily mail on Facebook if u see the way this British people abused this couple I felt sorry for them I just hope their love will stand the test of time and not end in divorce
