The schools will be given provisional licenses to run for three years, while the ministry monitors their growth.

*Private Universities are OK but they are too expensive
Nice one.
ReplyDeleteNot nice at all. They should take care of the state and federal universities. My friends son just got admission i covenant University, fees for his course is 1.5m not talking of other fees oh.
DeleteSchools full everywhere but no jobs mtchewwww
ReplyDeleteWait ooo they wan turn my school to university, Where are my fellow Nekedites come let's celebrate ooo..
ReplyDeleteAt least this nonsense stereotype of "I go university, U go polytechnic" go stop
Read it properly, federal polytechnic Nekede wasn’t converted to a uni, rather a private university name “university of Nigeria, Nekede was established in Nekede. It’s just a new private university also in Nekede.
DeleteNo.
DeleteThis is a new PRIVATE University named "University of Nigeria, Nekede"
I just pity undergraduates and students in school. Will Nigeria continue like this? Something needs to be done honestly. Too much unemployed graduates
ReplyDeleteThey should just make it cheap and watch how people will PORT
ReplyDeleteEven Maryam Abacha also has a private University.... Hmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteWe need more job opportunities biko
ReplyDeleteAbeg,na employment opportunities we need jare
ReplyDelete99 private secondary schools šššššššššš
ReplyDeleteNigeria. The country of quantity over quality!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy create more universities when there are no jobs? Can't they create industries? May God help us.
ReplyDeletePrivate universities kwašand people will pay through their nose to go there, why approve new universities when the ones you already have are not maintained. These naija leaders are too old to make reasonable decisions I tell you, they already got early signs of dementia
ReplyDeleteNekede was supposed to be made a uni for a very long time
ReplyDeleteHmmm so many uni these days . Those days I can name all the universities in Nigeria but now I don’t even know how many in my state .
ReplyDeleteHow will they approve a private University that has 'University of Nigeria' in it's name? That should not be allowed pls. And one thing with us is that we never build together. Instead of coming together to have few great private Unis, everyone will want to open their own otakara University and in the end we will have quantity but zero quality. Otakara levels should be for nursery/ schools, not for Uni. Hian.
ReplyDeleteExactly
DeleteI think no Private University should share the same name with UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA even if it's in a different state.
ReplyDeleteOur leaders no get brain at all.
DeleteIf anyone has 1.5m to pay in fees for these private schools, they should just study outside Nigeria instead. Better quality, better opportunities.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many options.
- Some schools in Germany are tuition free, you just need to pay your yearly expense into an account for the first year and they pay that back to you monthly, tuition is still free
- Tuition is free in Finland for some schools as well
- 1.5m will go a long way in Estonia if you have to pay tuition at some schools, some are tuition free
- There's Norway too
- Even UK has some really cheap schools and admission/Visa is so easy.
Options abound!
