The extremely secretive are also not left out and I had one as a roommate.
From the day she stepped into our room till the time I graduated and left, I never saw her in her undies.
As early as 4.00am she was up, said her prayers and dashed for the bathroom. She would get dressed facing the wall while covering herself with a wrapper and no part of her body got exposed. Even the usual slip off of wrappers never happened to her and I was really intrigued.
I never saw her change sanitary pads or get stained and at a point I concluded she was part of the few who didn't have their periods until I witnessed her giving another roommate of ours a piece of her sanitary towels when hers finished.
My curiosity was stirred and I had to ask other roommates if they noticed as well how secretive and weird she was. My closest roommate affirmed I was not the only one, but we just drank water and minded our business. After all , on what basis were we to question her?
She never ran out of foodstuff to warrant begging anyone of us and each time we offered her meals, she politely turned us down. What a wow!!!
It's been years since we all graduated and went our different ways, but I still wonder how she managed to be so put together and never allowed her extreme privacy to slip up in a room of four occupants where privacy was reduced to the barest minimum.
*Campus life and living in hostel is the sweetest but dirtiest experience i ever had...I lived in the hostel in my first year and final year and in my final year,I had a secretive roommate as described up there,we used to gossip about her when she was not there....LOL..I will never forget the bittersweet memories I left UNIBEN with.....
I loved staying in the hostel. From hall2 to hall 1 back to hall2. I loved hall2 like mad. And I had amazing roommates. We cook and eat together, gist and even Goan bath together. All the crazy fights we get to witness too. Chai. I miss the ebelebo in front of hall2

DeleteMake I bring mat๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
ReplyDeleteCould it be that that roommate saw some lesbians with hawk eyes and was trying her best to protect herself?
ReplyDeleteA lot happens in hostels. I was once brazenly approached by a lesbian for some actions and that put me off totally. ๐๐๐๐๐
Mrs Dee,I love your column. I always look forward to the different topics, they are always interesting
ReplyDeleteThank You Sweetheart ๐๐ค๐ฅฐ๐
DeleteMrs Dee
Stayed in the hostel. One of the best times of my life. You go meet different character enn. The good, bad and ugly. Gist is never unending. Most of my closest friends are the ones I made when I was in school. So many gists enn. Let me use my break and type small.
ReplyDeleteWas it the one who traveled home and came back and her boyfriend became the boyfriend of her best friend. That gist shook everywhere ennnn. These girls were so close! Their friendship turned sour. Felt so bad for my roommate then
Another one was seen taking meat from a pot that wasn't her own.
Another 100l roommate of mine turned to a buka for guy๐คฆ♀️. This girl will cook only for this guy to just come and be carrying with cooler. E no let person chook mouth cos according to her, they were a 'couple'.
Too many stories abeg. Memories๐
I remember my University days, good old days. You meet different people from different backgrounds. I'm still friends with my last set of roommates❤️๐งก๐
ReplyDeleteI never stay in the hostel except exam period.
ReplyDeleteGreatest UNIBEN Students!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have really fond memories of school life. Or rather the good way outshines the bad. I had close friends too.
This days, I can't even call one person my friend. After school, everyone moved away, most out of the country. Na just hi hi now via social media. Not like those days when we stayed close to each other and spent days in class or night class together.
Lived in Hall 1 and Hall 2. Glad I had the experience. I got to understand people more and stopped seeing things in black and white while still holding my christian values. Don't miss the dirtiness of school hostel though.
Great!!!
Delete@ Stella, be like na Uniben alumnus full this ya Blog oh
Yap,I lived in hall 2 before moving out to Osasogie.
DeleteI enjoyed school hostel sha
Ms Dee, I knew someone like your roommate. Seriously, what's the deal? Is it shyness or something else?
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's anything wrong though but I've just always wondered why, especially the hiding body part.
Good old days....
ReplyDeleteHostel iife is another school of it's own, you unlearn, learn and relearn.
I just remembered one of my 300l roommate. Bad character full her body. Madam "kabasher". She will wake everyone around 5 with loud prayers meanwhile she's keeping malice with everyone in the room. Yeye dey smell. We always quarrelled cause I didn't like her attitude. Madam won't stay in her corner cause she was in corner C and I was in corner B. Chai.
ReplyDeleteBoarding is fun mehn
ReplyDeleteI stayed in Hall 3 in my first year. Hall 4 boys and beans are inseparable. Chai๐คญ
ReplyDeleteGreatest Uniben Student!
DeleteHall 3 boys and yabbing are inseparable.
lol
I'm so happy to see UNIBEN alumni here o
DeleteHostel life was horrible with different character, I had a bunk mate that was possessed with evil spirit. every night by 12 midnight, nepa must take light and she'll be moaning for close to an hour cos the spirit husband was having sex with her, this is true story, no be lie, another was one of the happening babes in school buh was a borrow pose to belong, always broke and borrowing clothes to pose, another came from a very poor background buh starting doing runs to belong cos of the bad friend she made, it affected her grades so much that I don't know If she finally graduated. plenty stories, different characters, its in hostel you'll learn that all that glitters is not gold buh na packaging to feel among.
ReplyDeleteI think your roommate was self pleasuring herself. She wasn't possessed by evil spirit.
DeleteKeep your thinking to yourself. I know what am saying.
DeleteI grew up abroad unlike my sisters who grew up in Africa and I used to envy them when I would go back home for holidays and I would see them living in hostels during their university days. I wish I had that experience too๐ฅบ๐ฅบ
ReplyDeleteLike you I grew up abroad but I never envied those that lived in hostels and the likes
