Gov Ikpeazu tweeted on Wednesday February 10th....
''Earlier today, while featuring in a radio programme on Vision Africa 104.1fm Umuahia, I announced that from Monday, February 15, in accordance with the Laws of Abia State, Government will pull down any building used to keep kidnap victims or used as transit point for the movement of kidnap victims. We'll also pull down buildings where arms, ammunition or illicit drugs are found. These decisions among others have become necessary as part of measures being put in place to keep Abia safe from kidnappers and perpetrators of other violent crimes''.
We always hear this all the time but hardly see its actions. Proceed of crimes should be confiscated and used for meaningful purposes by the government.

ReplyDeleteI have a problem with this declaration. What if the landlord is unaware that his/her rented property is being used for something illegal? 🤔
ReplyDeleteHow does pulling down the buildings stop the crimes? How about putting in safety protective measures instead? Prevention is what is important. Put real thoughts into the work and come up with real solutions. The band-aid solutions are just for show and to give the illusion of doing something. Mtscchw
