DeleteBut this is obvious truth, i grew up knowing women that are married to older women in my community without anyone making noise. I think the issue is when they now demand for legal recognition and the westernization of the whole process. Madam Aisha just ssid the truth am from Kogi state if you are confused anyway.
DeletePetterson that was taught in anthropology. That is different from homosexuality. Woman to woman marriage is a type of marriage especially in places like south south or among the igbo. It happens when an elderly woman has reach menopause and cnt give birth. She will go marry a young girl to give birth in the family house so that they name will continue. Some times couple do dat. The reason is not to lost a family name die to inability of the said wife bearing children.

DeleteBut homosexuality has been in existence in Nigeria since ages past. It is a known fact many gay men exist in the north. Even as a student in eastern Nigeria, I discovered that the lesbianism stories in Hints magazine was actually a reality among women in Awka and Enugu. These women are married to highly placed and respected men in the society and they have real cash to throw around which they use to lure many ladies especially students into their trade and even fight each other for snatching. They are well organized and even have 'clubs' and... shop. One of them who used to be a popular 'christian' radio minister found her way into nollywood after being disgraced by her husband and she is still in the business of plying her trade in the industry while 'preaching' and running a foundation. So, Aisha in a way is right if she says homosexuality existed in the past but insisting on them rubbing it in our face and expecting us to accept it as a norm, is a no, no, mbok. Darkness becomes very bold when ignored to thrive and if not nipped in the bud early.

Yes, Awka with proofs sef. Highly coded, if you don't know them or have never been approached, you can never know it exists or even the perpetrators are real. I repeat, many bisexual women there and married with husband and children, living normal life. The husbands of some know sef. Yes, I said that. Don't even let me go there at all. You took a passage about divorce and put it in another context. Consider this one from Exodus- Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? So, he made gays and hermaphrodites. Only he has the right to condemn them. Aisha promised to fight all forms of human subjugation. This is one of them. You can choose to ignore this one or support it too. But as she said, if you fight for one, be prepared to fight for all because human suffering at all levels should be stopped.
