Me that hate being the last user of anything that I buy. Be it a clothing item or household appliances or even a car, I either sell or give out befor they go bad.
Is it not better to sell the fridge then use the proceeds to get a new wardrobe. I don't think this is good for the clothes and shoes. I can perceive the smell of a fridge that has not been turned on from here and it's not good.
Very good idea especially here where they rarely repair appliances. You put them out for the garbage trucks to go and dump. There are no appliance mechanics here like in Naija where even blenders are repaired. We have thrown spoilt dishwashers and double door refrigerators away so I like this idea of moving it to a closet and storing sneakers with baking soda and air freshener in it. . As to it being damp and musky, leave it cleaned out for days with open baking soda boxes inside as we normally do to keep refrigerators fresh. Brilliant idea of recycling for those concerned about climate change.
