Y'all should stop navigating every woman's mental problems to a bad marriage
Nothing in that write up stated she's having a problem in her marriage, she and her husband could be in a good terms (or otherwise).
It's written there she'd tried killing the child in 2017, and the boy was taken away by the welfare team and returned back after a year, marriage crisis apart, some people are truly suffering from all kinds of mental illness, some are due to a postnatal depression that wasn't well treated or totally ignored while some are due to mental stress. Some people are in a good marriage and still suffers mental breakdown
It's not every time the husband giving problem, the question should be directed to her doctor who satified her and get the poor child returned to her after the first attempt to kill him 🤷🏾‍♀️

    3. The welfare team killed the boy the very day he came back to his mum. So sad.
      RIP good boy.

    4. The welfare failed big time. I honestly don't know what welfare are doing these days. Children are really suffering here now. A man in my neighbourhood who is always shouting at the top of his voice all over the place, I was shocked to see him displaying madness and two children walking with him and to think he picked them from school that time.
You would have thought Victoria and baby P would have thought them a lesson.

  4. What a shame? At times I wonder why mental health issues are quite common in Britain among some Nigerian ladies, I know it affects a lot of people but the rate at which Nigerian ladies fall into depression in the UK is alarming

    1. There are many factors. Loneliness, Stress and exhaustion, The pressure to be a super woman etc.

    2. Many cases here have not been documented. There is stigma attached to mental health issues. So many are mentally ill but refuse to go to psychiatric hospitals for treatment. Nobody wants to be called mad. So many don't even know they are mentally compromised. Others don't know what to do or where to go even when they realise they have issues. There is a huge need for awareness on mental health issues in Nigeria.

    3. It's not more common among Nigerians. Other people take their drugs to keep it in check while some Nigerians will say that it's their enemy that is sick and not them. She probably stopped taking her meds.

    5. It is VERY common in Nigeria as well, just that we have poor journalism and data collection. Not everything makes the news unlike advanced countries where they can have an entire TV channel devoted to just one aspect like mental health. I worked in a teaching hospital in Nig and we had so many psychiatric cases. Mind you this wasn't a psychiatric hospital per say.

  6. It’s true @femianthony, if you are not strong and determined as a single parent, you can’t live in uk, struggling without papers, gone are those days that having kids in uk gives you papers quickly and with coronavirus everywhere, work that people do without papers like school runs etc are hard to find, so the struggle is real. Things are really tough in uk now and depression & mental illness is on the increase. There is no family support, everyone minds his or her business, churche/social gatherings where people attend to mingle and meet people are closed, there is enough emotional support, before your case comes to social services it may be too late and sometimes cases are not properly handled and are allowed to slip leading to fatalities.
