ReplyDeleteMaryam and Marziyeh were arrested in Iran in 2009. Their crime: being Christians. They were blindfolded, interrogated and became ill during their time in prison. They were taken to court. Mr Haddad, the prosecuting lawyer, asked the two women if they were Christians. ‘We love Jesus,’ they replied. He repeated his question and they responded, ‘Yes, we are Christians.’
Mr Haddad asked whether they regretted becoming Christians, to which they replied, ‘We have no regrets.’ Then he stated emphatically, ‘You should renounce your faith verbally and in written form.’ They stood firm and replied, ‘We will not deny our faith.’
When Mr Haddad told the women to return to prison to think about their options and come back to him when they were ready (to comply), Maryam and Marziyeh responded, ‘We have already done our thinking.’
The author of Hebrews writes to Christians who are the subject of persecution: ‘You stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering’ (Hebrews 10:32) – as Maryam and Marziyeh did before their prosecutors. (Thank God they have been released)
The will to persevere is often the difference between success and failure. This is true of learning a new skill or sport, or achieving success at work. As has been said, ‘Observe the postage stamp; its usefulness depends on the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there.’ ‘Stickability’ is also a key to the Christian life. If you want to learn to read the Bible, pray, resist evil or whatever else, learn to persevere. The writer of Hebrews encourages his readers not to be ‘quitters’ but ‘to stick it out’ (vv.34–39, MSG).
Prayer:
Lord, help me to set my face with determination not to be put off by opposition, contempt and ridicule. Help me to stick at it; confronting evil and proclaiming the good news about Jesus to the very end.

ReplyDeleteMy friend called me and was asking me if he was a terrible person for feeling deep anger and jealous towards his friends.
This was because of the news he got yesterday evening.
He came back from work, feeling so down.
One of his guys, who used to be his flat mate and a barber. Who he used to help in so many ways until last year August when he runaway from the house, left his shop and went into hiding because he impregnated a 14 years old girl just bought two Venzas this Christmas, bought a land and building a house which he will open in February according to him...
The second guy was his colleague from another branch. His friend from way back who quit his job in April and was squatting with him since then.
He was the one feeding this guy, taking care of most of his basic needs...
He too just bought a car and just laid a foundation in his village this Christmas.
I didn't even know what advice to give my friend in this situations.
I only told him that it is normal for him to feel that way cause he is human.
He should keep working hard and praying for God's favour. He shouldn't envy anyone because he doesn't know the source of their wealth. A whole lot of our youth of these days have eyes for quick money and can do anything to have it.
DeleteHard work and dedication pays eventually more so with God's favour you can meet your life target.
Does he know the source of their wealth? If it's legitimate, he should be patient. God will surely surprise him

A recap is the major difference between an application letter and cover letter which people interchange their meaning..An application is a standalone document which has your qualifications, achievements and skills to the hiring manager however a cover letter goes along with your resume or CV. Though they also have features that they share. However it is important that you compose an engaging and convincing cover letter as this serves as your ''appetizer'' to your main course the ''Resume or CV'' to the hiring manager. So either you use these tips or to be on a safer side, engage a professional cover letter writer but do well to share your career highlights, qualifications, skills, achievements and experiences.

Also don't use your office email address to send your CV and cover letter to your potential employer or correspondences..

3. Use a catchy first paragraph e.g If you are in sales, marketing or business development executive , you can say ''As a lifelong enthusiast of XYZ’s marketing initiatives, I was thrilled to see your posting for the position of Sales/Marketing/Business Development Executive. I am positive I can help with XYZ’s upcoming challenges.
