CHRONICLES OF MELODY THE RUNS GEH

I expected him to react or call me back, he didn't, I was walking on the streets wailing like a child, I boarded a bus while going home, I couldn't control the tears....

 The man that sat beside me said something to me, he said "don't keep it in, cry, wail if you have to, scream out loud, you'll be better after"...

 I got down from the bus with my swollen eyes, got home and told my sweet Mom everything, Mommy said "Let the will of God be done, water wey you go drink, no go fit pass you, them no de throway pikin with dirty water, you did something bad, but deserve to be happy, you also deserve a second chance"..

 She cuddled me and I slept off......

The next day was on Sunday, I was in the church but my fiance and Treasure were not in the church, I kept looking outside, believing
they'd come, but they never came, he didn't call me either and I didn't call him too, not because I didn't want to, but because I was so ashamed of myself:::

 I got home and was helping my younger brother to wash his clothes when my phone rang, it was my fiance, he said I should meet him at home, I said okay, I made sure that I was done with my laundry before going cos I knew he wanted to end it, so I got myself ready, I even bought an alligator pepper, if the thing too pain me, I go chew alligator pepper, that one pain go distract me small (lol🤣🤣🤣):::

I got there, I went inside, sat down very close to the door, I greeted him, frowned my face like someone that is fighting with her ancestors, he laughed so hard and said "Melody", I said Sir, he said, would you have told me about your past if you were not caught? I boldly told him that I would never had told him if not for the incident on ground

 he asked why, I told him it's because the past lives in the past and it was not a decent or some friendly past, so I don't see why I should carry it on a placard around like am proud of it, I told him that it was not a story I like sharing, he said okay:

He asked if I regretted that past, I burst out in tears and told him that I was very very sorry about it and I regretted and I was still regretting that ugly past, immediately there was a knock on the door, he asked me to go into the room, I did and his friend walked in, they exchanged pleasantries, he sat down, he quickly said "guy see eeeh, you know I love you and you're like a brother to me, but I no sure say this your marriage go work ooo, my fiance asked him why, he said because you don't know this girl wey you wan marry, she was a cheap slut, she was a prostitute at one dirty joint in Port-Harcourt, she smokes, isn't afraid of sleeping with a man everywhere including inside office or motor-park, I will advise you to leave her because you will definitely regret it, and that's not all ooo, she may not be able to bear you a child because in one of her abortions, she had major complications, I was the doctor that did the abortion for her, it wasn't funny, she bled profusely for months, she was even smelling sef, I no sure say anything remain for her body ooo, she no get money, there were some tests that she was supposed to do then to ascertain if her womb was okay but she couldn't do it because she no get money, cheap Ashawo, that girl wey like fuck pass dog, I de fuck am steady inside my office''

My fiance then laughed and asked him, why was she bleeding? Abi you no sabi your work well? He said "No ooo, she didn't tell us the correct age of the pregnancy and that day I don too drink, so na drink eye I take scatter the baby for her belle", my fiance then asked him, "why are you telling me this now?", he said it was because he didn't want him to make a mistake in life, he said okay, brought out my phone and played the recorded conversation for him, the idiot was so shocked, my fiance then asked him, if she had gone to your hotel to fuck you as usual, would you have told me this?? Probably you will turn an Oliver twist and be asking for some more, and then for her to cover her tracks she will be sleeping with you while under my roof, please what is the definition of love to you?

 I was standing behind the room curtain crying uncontrollably, my fiance then called me to come out, I came out, he asked me to sit beside him, I sat down, he kissed my forehead and said, ''you are indeed a prayer answered, I asked God to give me a woman who has seen it all, a woman who has been there and done there, a woman who is not afraid of threats and God gave you to me''

THIS IS A MUST READ IF YOU ARE A WOMAN

CONTINUOUS BLEEDING - THE VILLAGE PEOPLE MYTH VERSUS THE TRUTH

I have seen atleast 2 posts from BV's describing the following symptoms:

bloating
tired
Very heavy bleeding (going through a full pack of pads within 24 - 36 hours)
Irregular cycles - missed periods even when not pregnant
Ultra sound scan shows nothing etc


some of them attributed it to village people whilst some sought medical intervention but couldn't get a diagnosis.

I read attentively and this is why.......i am in my 30's generally healthy and very health conscious, had very regular periods like a clock work until a little over 4 years ago, i planned and fell pregnant with my lo and had an elective CS due to a prior complication that happened after my previous pregnancy which was a vaginal delivery anyway.


Healed from my CS section and weaned my child at 4Months, period returned at 5months and was normal until my baby turned 11months. I visited 9ja and few days after arriving, i experienced what was almost like hemorrhage.i went through 2 packs of always night pad in 2 days and by day 3 the bleeding stopped. i put it down to 9ja stress and jetlag. ( i was holed up with my family and no village people were around nor aware i was around so no, it wasnt village people at work).


A week after, the bleeding started again (lest i forget, hubby and I use condoms only, no hormonal contraception) it was regular bleed and lasted for a week.
I flew down to see my inlaws and there the bleeding started again. I used up a full pack of pad within 30hours, even staining every clothing i wore in and then the bleeding continued for another 10 days. 


I called hubby and told him to make an appt with my GP so that on my return i can go see the doctor. Bleeding stopped and returned again a few days after, but it was same thing. Irrational and irregular bleeding. (person canor plan to gbensh nor baff up because one is afraid that this bleeding will show up at anytime)


Shortly after i returned, i was still bleeding, went and saw my doc who prescribnorethisteroneone for 10 days to stop the bleed - on day 3 the bleed stopped, by day 7 it had returned. i then went back to the GP who at this point referred me for an ultrasound scan and transvaginal scan.


Turned up and the radiographer says every bit of my "ladyhouse" looks fine except they cant see one of my ovaries - i ask why? She looks and goes, well because of your demographic aka, in ur 30's black etc it might be fibroid as you tick all the boxes. I then ask her, madam what type of fibroid is it? what size is it and where is it located? Oyinbo immediately apologises and says she is unsure she is just making assumption. I warn her not to do so with my health with no evidence to back up such diagnosis (i work in the medical field and like i said earlier, i am a very health conscious pezin)


I go back to discuss results with my GP and GP says , ohh you have fibroid, i shake my head and repeat what i said to the radiographer - GP apologises and says well, since you are no more bleeding (at this point, the periods had stopped for about 2 months) lets just wait and see then come back and see me if ur symptoms worsens.


Period continued its strike for another couple of weeks and then seemed to return to normal 4 day cycle, sometimes, once every 7 weeks and sometimes every 3 weeks i ll have a 4 day period. Then it will go on strike again .
We are now 7 months in since the bleeding begun, i go back to see the doctor (a diff doctor this time who suggests i try to loose weight as it may help). No wahala, i start loosing weight and lost 12 kg but no improvement.
i went back to see a 3rd doctor when the bleeding returns angrily like a hoodlum, the doctor says it might just be my body trying to normalise and they ll do some blood work - 


18months into the 1st episode of bleeding, 10kg of weight lost, one US scan, one transvaginal scan, x2 sets of blood tests yet to diagnosis and symptoms persist. I ask to be referred to a gynae.


GP gets advice from gynae who suggests they put me on cerazette pill, i refuse as i have been on cerazette years ago and i just bleed all through so the GP says no wahala....let us be looking each other and see if you can manage it.


2 years in, bleeding still irregular, heavy, bloated and no diagnosis, i tried to go private but the consultants insist on a gp referral so i go back to the GP during covid and ask for a referral to a gynae, he requests new blood tests, another scan and then the referral


I had all that done this summer and i was told they still couldnt see one ovary but that my uterus was enlarged. The GP said its quite common when you have had multiple pregnancies to have an enlarged uterus and that i should manage it.
i refuse and insist on a referral to a specialist as they couldnt manage the symptoms themselves for 2 years. So i get referred.....


Saw the gynae this month who went through my symptoms, recent scan and results and diagnosed me with severe adenomyosis and have been recommended to have the coil fitted to manage my symptoms.


So i suggest to the other ladies who have shared similar symptoms on this blog, please see a Gynae who might be of a better help with diagnosis and better management than a primary doctor
